My SEL 1.8L Jetta’s been burning through a quart of oil roughly every 2 weeks sometimes less.
It originally had a leak coming from the turbo that I had fixed and for a few months after that the oil level was fine. Once it started losing oil again I brought it back to the mechanic and they couldn’t find a leak and I haven’t seen any oil spots under the car so obviously it has to be burning oil. I’ve seen that the turbos can go bad sometimes between 80k-90k miles so it could be that but I was wondering if you guys have seen a similar situation and if it could be something else.
I’ve had quite a few issues with this car and honestly if it does end up being the turbo I think I’d rather trade it in then keep throwing money at the car waiting for it to break again. Thanks in advance, appreciate your guys help!

- My breakfast is usually higher in protein. So a protein bar, greek yogurt (low-no added sugar) and frozen fruit
- I do take other medications for ADHD and anxiety in the morning. I sometimes remember to take a multivitamin
- I have sensory issues with certain foods, and thanks to my wonderful adhd I also get to have hyper fixations on certain food ( meaning I only eat that food for an extended period of time)
- I want to have to stop relying on OTC stomach medication ( Pepto) Since my diet is so high in protein it does not help but adds to certain GI issues
- I do take magnesium citrate ( Calm powder) on a pretty regular basis
- I already drink at the very least 40 oz of plain water every day

I already had cotton mouth and that dry weed just coated the inside of my mouth.
The one cop comes up to the drivers side and asked for our ID’s and asked what we were doing. My friend told him we were going to Jack In The Box to get something to eat. A couple of minutes later he comes back and gives back the ID’s and says they were looking for a robbery suspect and our car kind of looked like the one used.
So we took off and got our burgers and drove home after that. Happy ending.
I was spitting weed for a week.

2023.03.22 15:00 Spiky_nike Is there a Legit Engineering/Scientific reason as to why one would Slime their vehicle tires?
Asked this earlier on the mechanic advice subreddit but I figured I’d ask for all your inputs since you’re engineers. Engineer friend pre-emptively slimes his bmw tires (non-runflat Nokians) 16 fl oz in each tire, before roadtrips, and gets his tires changed at the bmw dealership when they're due. I understand for tubed tires, but vehicles are tubeless, and it would create a mess inside? Not to mention balance issues, etc. He asserts the mess is no big deal and the tire techs should just deal with it. It sounds like a bad idea in my opinion, but I want to hear your thoughts since this is the first time I hear of someone, especially an engineer, doing it. His assertions are:
1) FAQ says approved by all TPMS manufacturers. There is also no differential pressure to get the goo into the sensor port of the TPMS. 2) Freezing/Glass Transition Temperature is -35 Degrees Farenheit. The gel coats the outer diameter of the tire and is forced into a 'leak' by differential pressure from inside the tire to outside atmospheric. 3) I see the tire companies don't offer warranty if one does pre-emptive sliming, but he still asserts his way is correct, and the warranty thing is just a CYA. Thoughts?
