Hi fellas, so I've been working mainly on buggy and awd, had 2 big builds and 5 bodies i was currently working on, whilst also racing with basic mr-03 rtr kit, but had a sudden surprise big move about 8 months back, and pretty much all my stuff is in storage and i don't have a lot of space to play around with for at least another 4 months.
So... i did what i thought I'd never do and started thinking about getting a 4x4 to mess around with, so i came here to ask for advice from any crawler users. I've seen the silver Jeep Wrangler rubicon which i like the look of, but part of the hobby i love is tinkering around with upgrades, so i was wondering if anyone had any advice of what parts to buy spares of, or get aluminum upgrades for, stuff that can be improved or may break for example... also some set up advice, and in general, how do you enjoy it, is it a worthwhile investment?
I'm already thinking of getting the caterpillar tracks, but can't find any spare Jeep wheels and tires though if i want to keep using them ๐ค

This thought is so reductive, so wrong that it hurts. Trying to simplify immensely complex realms such as reality and human nature. Using these oversimplifications to explain the behavior of expressions of reality and human nature such as the markets โฆ This bed of procrustes type of exercise leaves so much untold that it ends up rendered useless and even dangerous. It distorts reality. It omits the truth about us, about human nature.
I didn't come here today to talk to you about the wonders of behavioral economics โฆ again. I do believe that more often than not, our decisions are rational. Very often, nevertheless, they certainly are not. And this applies not only to average Joes but also to top notch brainiac hedge fund managers. There's just no escape.

How can this be remotely put into question?
Can't you feel this nearly every day?
Why does it cost you so much to get rid of your old clothes?
Why does it hurt you to see your brother stealing your chips?
Why are breakups so painful even if the relationship is already beyond broken?
Why do you think property rights are such a big deal for us, our governments and legislators?
Being separated from what used to be ours hurts more than the joy we get from acquiring new things.
To the extent that sometimes we prefer stacking our old clothes indefinitely instead of throwing them away, even when we know that we just won't be using them anyway.
To the extent that we will prolong ostensibly broken relationships until we absolutely can no more.
Even if these behaviors hamper our lives and are prominently bad decisions, irrational decisions โฆ and we know they are. We just can't avoid making them.
I mean, no matter how indoctrinated you might be, how many MBAs you've taken, how is it possible that you do not acknowledge the existence of these powerful forces?
What makes you think things work any differently with your investment decisions, or for that matter, with the investment decisions of the Wall Street rational investors, who are sheltered from irrationality.
I have no doubt whatsoever that just like you reluctantly dispose of your old clothes, so do you reluctantly dispose of your perilous old stocks, those that keep on making your equity bleed and can potentially aggravate the bleeding
โฆ you don't know how and why, but you just always have such a hard time when it comes to cutting them. Selling them for a loss, no matter how small, can be so hard. Yet, it is absolutely irrational to hoard this behavior and keep these cancers in your portfolio.
That's why, should you want to succeed as a trader, your system, your strategy must encompass mechanisms that anticipate these obstacles and help you overcome them. This is of the essence.
Technical analysis is one of these tools and mechanisms. Why? Right or wrong, the indicators are objective. For instance, when you use a 10 EMA to trail a trend โฆ should the price cut and close below that EMA, then the price cuts and closes below the trendline โฆ no room for interpretation
, zilch. No fancy macroeconomic theory can justify the irrational decision of not cutting that trade when you had decided from the outset that that would be the exit signal for your strategy.
Should you want to take things to another level, then you can also use mechanical bots to execute your trades. You give them the commands, they save you the pain of selling red positions โฆ and they sell ruthlessly with zero hesitation.
Should you not be a fan of automated bots, then you will understand that at a certain stage of your development as a trader, your progress will be walking hand in hand with your focus into cultivating a disciplined and stoic mentality, understanding what helps you keep your emotions and natural bias in check.
For some traders this means spending a greater chunk of their day away from the markets โฆ moving to another continent like Darvas, trading in slower timeframes and avoiding emotional fatigue โฆ diversify more โฆ
This is what all those trading quotes linking trading with self discovery refer to. You will need to find mechanisms to fight the heuristics and bias that jeopardize your (and every tarder's) decisions โฆ and these mechanisms tend to vary from trader to trader โฆ It is really all about self knowledge and self discovery here.

2023.03.22 16:13 ExZotixOfficial Brand new GT DD Pro not recognized by Fanatec Control Panel??
Just received my Fanatec order yesterday. I got the GT DD Pro (8nm) base with boost kit, CSL Universal Hub, CSL Elite V2 pedals, shifter and handbrake. I set everything up and plugged it into my laptop to update the firmware before using it on my ps4. I had the wheel attached to the base when doing so and the Fanatec Control Panel failed to recognize anything was plugged in. The power light on the base was flipping between red and blue and so I tried to change the mode to PC but the light wouldn't change. So I turned the base off and back on and I could hear my laptop beeping to indicate something was in the USB port but the Fanatec Conrol Panel still said it couldn't find any Fanatec devices. So I tried without the wheel attached and then I noticed the light stayed in blue (PS) mode and the Fanatec Conrol Panel recognized it was in PS mode and asked me to switch it to red (PC) mode. When I switched to PC mode the Fanatec Conrol Panel would go back to saying no devices found. I tried every combination of starting with/without a wheel, only having pedals connected, and tried changing it to PS mode on the laptop then just hooking into the ps4. But every time the wheel is connected to the base it makes the power light change between red and now purple (was blue in the beginning) and the wheel doesn't light up on the tuning menu or anything. I've tried uninstalling the drivers multiple times and reseating the shaft but nothing I'm finding online is working. Any help is much appreciated! This is my upgrade from my t300rs and everything felt like an upgrade until this point lol

I noticed this strange behavior the other day while initiating the unofficial launch sequence of fully depressing the brake pedal, then accelerator, and then lifting off brake quickly...and BOOM. Launch.
So, what I noticed is that if you fully depress the brake, then press on the accelerator, the vehicle lurches ever so slightly and the hood lifts up ever so slightly. (like an ICE vehicle). To me, this indicates that the brakes are physically holding the vehicle from moving. This surprised me, as I thought the vehicle was "smart" enough to not send/release any power at all to the motors and wheels if the brake is depressed, and that was how the "Launch" worked....the computer sent all the power as soon as the brake was released. But that doesn't seem to be the case. It absolutely does feel like something is being engaged and there is power being released when you press the accelerator even if the brake pedal is already depressed. I've tried this many times from a still position and always get the same result. The vehicle physically moves every so slightly when I depress the accelerator even if the brake pedal is fully depressed. What seems to be happening is like a typical ICE vehicle where the brakes are actually physically holding back the vehicle, not just doing it via the computer.
Is this normal and is this the proper function? To me, it seems a little dangerous and possibly bad for the brakes?

Iโm reaching out for guidance and help during a very intense and unfortunate time for me. There has been a deep darkness over my paternal grandfather, my father, and my (half) brother for all their lives. Itโs manifested in addiction, misogyny, violence, narcissism, etc. My brother hit a serious breaking point a few days ago, & I finally had to cut him off completely yesterday for my peace & safety. My late father has visited the dreams of one of the women my brother most recently abused. She told me that in these dreams he keeps yelling โDonโt fuck it up! Stop fucking it up! Why is he fucking everything up?!โ. Last night, a javelina (peccary pig native to New Mexico - where myself & my entire paternal side was bornโฆ) came to me in my dream and wreaked havoc in my home. I got it safely outside by the end.
That context is all to say that I canโt help but wonder if the dark energy has to do with a male familial curse, if thereโs a dark energy spiritually represented by javelinas,l that I could potentially work with, if this is even territory I should approach, etc. Ultimately, I want to tap in & do some craft that can possibly help my brother from afar, or even bring peace to my grandfather & father on the other side. Whatever cloud hangs above them is very darkโฆ and I feel I have the power to do something within my boundaries. Iโve never worked with animal spirit guides before, does anyone recommend/have experience with that? Or any spells in particular that have to do with healing the familial bloodline? Iโm of Celtic descent, so that is my realm of practice. Open to all suggestions, sending so much love from afar for your help โค๏ธ

โHalf to the left, half to the right.โ The soldiers separated, following the order as they marched through the empty streets of the city. The once bustling metropolis was covered in a blanket of fog, a desolate and lonely sight. The people were being led by the sorcerers to a convoy of massive trucks, hushed and panicked voices mingling together as they were loaded inside. The trucks were windowless to the people, preventing them from seeing it go through the portal located a few miles away from the city. A few people had refused to evacuate, and were currently being held down and forced into handcuffs and a separate truck.
Commander Arena Aegis of Padan Servicesโs Scourge Defence Division turned back to the city. Although there hadnโt been specific reports of a Scourge in the area, the fog that engulfed it did not seem natural in the slightest. She waited and a few seconds later, Kyra Illude joined her side.
โAre you ready?โ She pulled her goggles down onto her eyes.
Arena shot her a grin. โWhen am I not?โ She held out her hand and a portal opened, fractured glass spilling out. It caught itself and formed into the shape of a spear which Arena grasped. โMuch appreciated.โ
They stepped inside, the precautions having already been taken to prove that the fog was not harmful to touch or inhale. It rose a good five metres off the ground, shrouding everything from view. Arena kept her eyes sharp. There were always three things to watch out for about a Scourge: appearance, magical ability and hunting method. The appearance would differ from Scourge to Scourge, from amount of limbs to skin to body shape. There was only one thing they all had in common - they were too close to humans for comfortโs sake. By itself, the knowledge of its appearance was rather useless, except that it gave insight into the next two factors. Magical ability was what most gave Scourges their edge - the extra power to transform them from a regular monstrosity to a force of nature. Hunting method was how they collected their food, from echolocation to burrowing underground and emerging to flying overhead and swooping down - a secondary, more physical ability. Of course, there were other factors to take into account when fighting a Scourge, such as their healing factor, their affinity for human souls and their โgrace periodโ, but those remained rather consistent.
Arena pressed her finger to her wristband. โTeam Alpha, is everything clear on your end?โ
The voice spoke into the earpieces of both Arena and Kyra.โAffirmative.โ
โTeam Beta, what about yours?โ Not the most creative names, but [eh].
โNo sign of the Scourge but we have uncovered a group of survivors.โ
Arena frowned. The lynceuses should have scoured every building and uncovered the people that hadnโt been evacuated. โProceed with caution.โ
โIโm trying to communicate with them, but they donโt seem to be-โ the voice was cut off and replaced by a strangled cry and then the thump of a body. Gunshots and cries were heard through the audio before silence fell.
Arena whipped around to face Kyra. โWhat did you see?โ All soldiers were outfitted with a body-cam that Kyraโs goggles were able to connect to in order to allow her to create portals to their destination if needed. Distracting in battle, but useful outside of it.
โOne of the people jumped forward towards him. As soon as they touched, he collapsed. Everything else happened too fast and too chaotically.โ
Arena nodded. She tapped onto her wristband and began broadcasting a message to all the soldiers in and out of the city. โDo not engage with citizens you see in the fog. I repeat, do not engage.โ
Kyra opened a portal and a long sniper rifle fell from it into her hands. More portals opened and sand swept out in gallons, converging into a swirling vortex around Arena. Kyra opened a portal and the two of them stepped through next to the bodies of Team Beta. Arena knelt down and lifted one of them up.
โYep, the souls are definitely gone.โ Her mind analysed the possibilities of what the Scourge could be. Mind control? She hadnโt heard of Sensitive abilities also transmuting the ability to steal souls. A necromancer then? Possibly, but thereโd be more signs of death and decay if that was the case. And there was still the matter of the fog to take into account.
Kyraโs voice brought her back to reality. โOver there.โ Her gun was raised towards a group of five people, all standing there as still as corpses, just a few metres away. โPermission to fire?โ
โHold on. We donโt know the full extent.โ Arena took the first tentative step. โState your name and business.โ Her voice shifted to become more imperative, a slight edge that demanded to be heard and obeyed. The foremost person leapt forward and was immediately hit with a wave of sand, pinning it down to the ground. The impact slammed away the fog in a gust, exposing what lay underneath. As soon as the person was in the open air the image disappeared, leaving a long, fleshy tendril with a clawed nail where it had been. The rest of the people flickered and vanished, revealing more fingers that stretched into the distance. They retracted back into the fog instantly.
Arena tapped on her bracelet as the sand surged back. โThe Scourge is an illusionist. I repeat, the Scourge is an illusionist. Do not hesitate to open fire on any people that do not respond. Deploy elementals to blow away the fog.โ More glass poured out of a portal that formed itself into a pseudo-surfboard, which Arena and Kyra hopped onto. It zoomed through the city and pushed away the fog as gunshots ricocheted across the streets. Seems that the people had finally all been evacuated and the rest of the soldiers were joining the fight. Kyra peered through the fog to the best of her ability, shooting every once in a while into iy. Rising above, Arena could see what was in the middle of the city - a massive column of fog that rose hundreds of metres above the city.
A hand tore itself from the fog, the illusion breaking as it reached to grasp them. Arenaโs spear flew from her hand, dancing through the air and slicing through the fingers with ease.
โYou ready to take this beast down?โ called Arena.
Kyra gave her a small smirk. โWhen am I not?โ A massive portal opened up above them and sand poured down, an endless supply that swirled faster and faster until Arena sent it surging forward towards the pillar of fog, blowing the fog away in one move.
Hanging onto a skyscraper in the middle of the column, with long, emancipated limbs that wrapped around it, massive milky white eyes and a mouth hanging wide, wide open with a horde of arms reaching out of it down into the fog was the Scourge. Arena felt a rush go through her body, not of fear like it once would have been, but pure adrenaline.
It lifted its head to observe the pair, the hands whipping out of the fog and surging towards the pair. Kyra snapped her finger and a massive portal swirled opened in front of them, swallowing up the hands. Before they could retract, the portal snapped shut, leaving behind only stumps. The flesh began to bubble as the wounds closed and hands started to sprout again. Arena flicked her hand and her spear flew through the air, piercing into the eye of the Scourge. The spear trembled and shattered into shards, shredding the eye into ribbons before returning and reforming at her side.
The hands spasmed erratically as they healed, plunging down into the fog again. They rose out of the fog a few seconds later, surrounding the pair as they surged forward. Bullets and glass littered the sky as Arena evaded the assault, tearing above the city as the hands chased them around. Energy beams tore themselves from the fog and burned into the main body of the Scourge. Seemed that the soldiers had finally made their way to the centre. Some of the hands deviated and surged down into the depths of the city.
Whirring started to emanate from the boundaries of the fog. Mounted on top of a car, a massive turret was building up power, growing brighter and louder every second that passed. The turret was designed to send out a burst of energy that would pass harmlessly through matter such as concrete and glass. However, organic matter wasnโt as lucky. It released a blast of colour that tore through the sky and burned into the Scourgeโs body, tearing a hole into its torso. The hands went spastic, retracting and thrashing wildly around. Bingo.
Arena raised her hand and gave Kyra a quick nod. The sand was swallowed up by portals at the same time that glass was released. It formed together into a massive spear, casting shattered sunlight onto the desolate city. She threw it right into the wound. It dug in deep and then exploded.
Scourges tended to have unnaturally tough skin, with the flesh healing faster than anything could destroy it. However, if one managed to get past the outer layers, then they would find the Scourge much more vulnerable. The glass shredded the Scourgeโs main body into ribbons, tearing through flesh and bone until the arms all finally stilled. Kyra led Arena through a portal onto the ground as the commander collapsed onto the ground, sweat pouring down her face. A water bottle dropped down and Kyra handed it to Arena. She took a swig.
โHow close was it that time?โ
โAround five got within a few centimetres of us - at least, of the ones that I remember.โ
Arena let out a low whistle. โWe really should bring Claren to these things.โ
Kyra shrugged. โI mean, we havenโt died yet.โ She hooked her arms under Arenaโs and tried her best to drag her up. โAlright, up you come. We canโt have our commander slouching around.โ
Arena sighed but stood up, pushing off the tiredness and rolling her shoulders back. Kyra opened a portal and the two of them stepped through to the outskirts of the city. There was a team cleaning up the remains of the Scourge, wandering through the city to find and destroy any traces of it. The mission had been as successful as could be when regarding a Scourge invasion - minimal destruction of housing, minimal death and perhaps her and Kyra would be back in time for dinner. The fog was starting to dissipate, now only a thin mist which was being blown away in the wind. The soldiers had all met up outside the city, haggard and tired. The bodies were being carried outside. Less casualties than usual, she noted. Seems that Kyra and her had kept it distracted enough for the soldiers to keep themselves afloat.
โTake the bodies to the infirmaries. The doctors will take them off your hands.โ The soldiers nodded and walked through the portal. The group was made up of Sanctuary soldiers, Padan Servicesโ own employees and various factions of crime in the magical Australian underworld. Teams sent to deal with Scourges, except for a few exceptions, were small - small enough that the Scourge wouldnโt grow in power exponentially if the mission went awry. A buzz came from her wristband and she tapped on it. โCommander Aegis here. What seems to be the situation?โ
Heavy breathing came from the other end, as well the sound of boots against the ground. โFuck, fuck shit! Thereโs a-โ the sound cut out for a few seconds. โThereโs another one coming!โ The voice started to scream, loud and piercing, until the sound of a crunch echoed through the earpiece and left only the buzz of static.
โEveryone on your feet! Thereโs another Scourge in the area!โ
The soldiers jumped to their feet and grabbed their weapons in a rush, either used as their firepower or to strengthen their magic. Glass swirled in the air, a storm of slivers and shards that hung in the air. Then came the sound of feet upon the ground, like dry thunder.
A beast came charging out of the city, springing from building to building with grace and agility a being of its size shouldnโt have. It was emancipated horribly, wizen and wrinkled with limbs that bent at wrong angles. Its face was long and its eyes were beady, sunken deep into what barely passed as flesh. Gunfire rained onto it.
It hissed and a harsh clicking sound came from its mouth, almost insidious in its quietude. The bullets bit into the building, shattering glass which then flew up and dug into the Scourgeโs flesh. It leapt down and was shoved back by a gust of wind from an elemental, causing it to stumble back. A jagged spear of glass pierced it right through the eye and exited from everywhere else. It had gone down so fast, the turret hadnโt even had time to ready.
The soldiers cheered. Arena narrowed her eyes. That was too easy. Her mind started to rush as the adrenaline, brought back a second time and now refusing to fade, brought every little detail and thought to the surface. The Scourge was tiny. Much bigger than a human could ever be, but simply too small. It hadnโt displayed any of its magic yet, and for some reason its healing didnโt kick in quick enough to save it. Lastly, and most chilling, was that considering the speed at which it was running, there was no chance it could have gotten from the other soldiers to here in the time that it apparently did. Something was wrong.
Arena held up her hand. โSave your celebrations. Itโs not over yet.โ She waved the soldiers back from the Scourge. She paused for a split second before coming to a conclusion. โIโm going to approach the body. Lieutenant Illude, bring me to safety if anything happens.โ
Out of view of the soldiers, Kyra shot her a worried glance but nodded.
Arena stepped forwards and observed the corpse. She threw her spear again and sliced the head off of the body. Well, if it wasnโt dead before, it was certainly dead now. Unless it was a zombie Scourge. She waited a few seconds for it to lurch up. Probably not.
A hand tore itself out of the main body and a portal engulfed Arena. As she stepped back next to Kyra, more hands and limbs erupted from the Scourge, covered in slick and gore as they tore themselves from the corpse. The figures collapsed to the floor, shuddering and shaking before standing upright on limbs too long for a human.
Kyra was the first to act, firing a bullet right into the head of one of the figures. They were the next to act, dropping to all fours, bounding over and tackling one of the soldiers to the ground. Its mouth opened and teeth dug into flesh, rending a hole into the soldierโs shoulder. His soul swirled from the wound and the soldier stiffened, slumping to the ground as the figure stood up. Its body bulged, flesh rippling and roiling as it grew bigger. Several bullets shredded into it and it fell to the ground. A few of the soldiers who couldnโt get back in time fell, but Kyraโs portals swirled and set the soldiers and the monsters a few yards apart. A clicking sound - the same one that emerged from the original Scourge, started to rise in the air. Arena held her arms in the air as glass spread out all around the monsters and then brought her hands together.
Before anyone could take that first breath of relief, that relaxing of tension, they heard more sounds coming from the encroaches of the city. Another Scourge, almost identical to the one that had spawned those monsters, came crawling onto a building. And then another, and then another, until five of them were sprawled out across the buildings, all making the same clicking sound. Before gunfire could start tearing through the air again, the Scourges leapt to the ground and started to run, bounding past the group or retreating further into the city, ignoring the sorcerers entirely.
One of the soldiers spoke up. โCaptain, what does that mean?โ Arena chewed her lip. โTheyโre avoiding us because they know they canโt win - or they donโt see it as worth the potential loss. More importantly, theyโre communicating, like a hivemind.โ She turned to Kyra. โLieutenant, what direction are those Scourges headed?โ
โThe ones headed deeper into the city would be enroute to another one far south. They should be there in a few hours based on that speed.โ
โSend the soldiers over to that city now. Call for backup from the Sanctuaries, tell them to get more men and turrets down there.โ Kyra nodded and opened up a large portal, large enough for the turret to be wheeled through and the soldiers to follow suit. Even without their commander, they had a team leader, and were well-trained or at least briefed enough to know what to do. The portal closed and it was just Kyra and Arena.
โSo, Kyra, where do you think these ones are going?โ
โMy guess? Some sort of meeting place. Like a nest, or maybe even a hive.โ
โA hive, eh?โ Arena extended her hand as she got on top of the surfboard of glass, which Kyra gracefully grasped and hoisted herself up with. โWell then, how about we go do some exterminating?โ The commander and her lieutenant sliced through the air, following the echoing sound of clicking into the endless, desolate plains.

Commander Arena Aegis of Padan Servicesโs Scourge Defence Division turned back to the city. Although there hadnโt been specific reports of a Scourge in the area, the fog that engulfed it did not seem natural in the slightest. She waited and a few seconds later, Kyra Illude joined her side.
โAre you ready?โ She pulled her goggles down onto her eyes.
Arena shot her a grin. โWhen am I not?โ She held out her hand and a portal opened, fractured glass spilling out. It caught itself and formed into the shape of a spear which Arena grasped. โMuch appreciated.โ
They stepped inside, the precautions having already been taken to prove that the fog was not harmful to touch or inhale. It rose a good five metres off the ground, shrouding everything from view. Arena kept her eyes sharp. There were always three things to watch out for about a Scourge: appearance, magical ability and hunting method. The appearance would differ from Scourge to Scourge, from amount of limbs to skin to body shape. There was only one thing they all had in common - they were too close to humans for comfortโs sake. By itself, the knowledge of its appearance was rather useless, except that it gave insight into the next two factors. Magical ability was what most gave Scourges their edge - the extra power to transform them from a regular monstrosity to a force of nature. Hunting method was how they collected their food, from echolocation to burrowing underground and emerging to flying overhead and swooping down - a secondary, more physical ability. Of course, there were other factors to take into account when fighting a Scourge, such as their healing factor, their affinity for human souls and their โgrace periodโ, but those remained rather consistent.
Arena pressed her finger to her wristband. โTeam Alpha, is everything clear on your end?โ
The voice spoke into the earpieces of both Arena and Kyra.โAffirmative.โ
โTeam Beta, what about yours?โ Not the most creative names, but [eh].
โNo sign of the Scourge but we have uncovered a group of survivors.โ
Arena frowned. The lynceuses should have scoured every building and uncovered the people that hadnโt been evacuated. โProceed with caution.โ
โIโm trying to communicate with them, but they donโt seem to be-โ the voice was cut off and replaced by a strangled cry and then the thump of a body. Gunshots and cries were heard through the audio before silence fell.
Arena whipped around to face Kyra. โWhat did you see?โ All soldiers were outfitted with a body-cam that Kyraโs goggles were able to connect to in order to allow her to create portals to their destination if needed. Distracting in battle, but useful outside of it.
โOne of the people jumped forward towards him. As soon as they touched, he collapsed. Everything else happened too fast and too chaotically.โ
Arena nodded. She tapped onto her wristband and began broadcasting a message to all the soldiers in and out of the city. โDo not engage with citizens you see in the fog. I repeat, do not engage.โ
Kyra opened a portal and a long sniper rifle fell from it into her hands. More portals opened and sand swept out in gallons, converging into a swirling vortex around Arena. Kyra opened a portal and the two of them stepped through next to the bodies of Team Beta. Arena knelt down and lifted one of them up.
โYep, the souls are definitely gone.โ Her mind analysed the possibilities of what the Scourge could be. Mind control? She hadnโt heard of Sensitive abilities also transmuting the ability to steal souls. A necromancer then? Possibly, but thereโd be more signs of death and decay if that was the case. And there was still the matter of the fog to take into account.
Kyraโs voice brought her back to reality. โOver there.โ Her gun was raised towards a group of five people, all standing there as still as corpses, just a few metres away. โPermission to fire?โ
โHold on. We donโt know the full extent.โ Arena took the first tentative step. โState your name and business.โ Her voice shifted to become more imperative, a slight edge that demanded to be heard and obeyed. The foremost person leapt forward and was immediately hit with a wave of sand, pinning it down to the ground. The impact slammed away the fog in a gust, exposing what lay underneath. As soon as the person was in the open air the image disappeared, leaving a long, fleshy tendril with a clawed nail where it had been. The rest of the people flickered and vanished, revealing more fingers that stretched into the distance. They retracted back into the fog instantly.
Arena tapped on her bracelet as the sand surged back. โThe Scourge is an illusionist. I repeat, the Scourge is an illusionist. Do not hesitate to open fire on any people that do not respond. Deploy elementals to blow away the fog.โ More glass poured out of a portal that formed itself into a pseudo-surfboard, which Arena and Kyra hopped onto. It zoomed through the city and pushed away the fog as gunshots ricocheted across the streets. Seems that the people had finally all been evacuated and the rest of the soldiers were joining the fight. Kyra peered through the fog to the best of her ability, shooting every once in a while into iy. Rising above, Arena could see what was in the middle of the city - a massive column of fog that rose hundreds of metres above the city.
A hand tore itself from the fog, the illusion breaking as it reached to grasp them. Arenaโs spear flew from her hand, dancing through the air and slicing through the fingers with ease.
โYou ready to take this beast down?โ called Arena.
Kyra gave her a small smirk. โWhen am I not?โ A massive portal opened up above them and sand poured down, an endless supply that swirled faster and faster until Arena sent it surging forward towards the pillar of fog, blowing the fog away in one move.
Hanging onto a skyscraper in the middle of the column, with long, emancipated limbs that wrapped around it, massive milky white eyes and a mouth hanging wide, wide open with a horde of arms reaching out of it down into the fog was the Scourge. Arena felt a rush go through her body, not of fear like it once would have been, but pure adrenaline.
It lifted its head to observe the pair, the hands whipping out of the fog and surging towards the pair. Kyra snapped her finger and a massive portal swirled opened in front of them, swallowing up the hands. Before they could retract, the portal snapped shut, leaving behind only stumps. The flesh began to bubble as the wounds closed and hands started to sprout again. Arena flicked her hand and her spear flew through the air, piercing into the eye of the Scourge. The spear trembled and shattered into shards, shredding the eye into ribbons before returning and reforming at her side.
The hands spasmed erratically as they healed, plunging down into the fog again. They rose out of the fog a few seconds later, surrounding the pair as they surged forward. Bullets and glass littered the sky as Arena evaded the assault, tearing above the city as the hands chased them around. Energy beams tore themselves from the fog and burned into the main body of the Scourge. Seemed that the soldiers had finally made their way to the centre. Some of the hands deviated and surged down into the depths of the city.
Whirring started to emanate from the boundaries of the fog. Mounted on top of a car, a massive turret was building up power, growing brighter and louder every second that passed. The turret was designed to send out a burst of energy that would pass harmlessly through matter such as concrete and glass. However, organic matter wasnโt as lucky. It released a blast of colour that tore through the sky and burned into the Scourgeโs body, tearing a hole into its torso. The hands went spastic, retracting and thrashing wildly around. Bingo.
Arena raised her hand and gave Kyra a quick nod. The sand was swallowed up by portals at the same time that glass was released. It formed together into a massive spear, casting shattered sunlight onto the desolate city. She threw it right into the wound. It dug in deep and then exploded.
Scourges tended to have unnaturally tough skin, with the flesh healing faster than anything could destroy it. However, if one managed to get past the outer layers, then they would find the Scourge much more vulnerable. The glass shredded the Scourgeโs main body into ribbons, tearing through flesh and bone until the arms all finally stilled. Kyra led Arena through a portal onto the ground as the commander collapsed onto the ground, sweat pouring down her face. A water bottle dropped down and Kyra handed it to Arena. She took a swig.
โHow close was it that time?โ
โAround five got within a few centimetres of us - at least, of the ones that I remember.โ
Arena let out a low whistle. โWe really should bring Claren to these things.โ
Kyra shrugged. โI mean, we havenโt died yet.โ She hooked her arms under Arenaโs and tried her best to drag her up. โAlright, up you come. We canโt have our commander slouching around.โ
Arena sighed but stood up, pushing off the tiredness and rolling her shoulders back. Kyra opened a portal and the two of them stepped through to the outskirts of the city. There was a team cleaning up the remains of the Scourge, wandering through the city to find and destroy any traces of it. The mission had been as successful as could be when regarding a Scourge invasion - minimal destruction of housing, minimal death and perhaps her and Kyra would be back in time for dinner. The fog was starting to dissipate, now only a thin mist which was being blown away in the wind. The soldiers had all met up outside the city, haggard and tired. The bodies were being carried outside. Less casualties than usual, she noted. Seems that Kyra and her had kept it distracted enough for the soldiers to keep themselves afloat.
โTake the bodies to the infirmaries. The doctors will take them off your hands.โ The soldiers nodded and walked through the portal. The group was made up of Sanctuary soldiers, Padan Servicesโ own employees and various factions of crime in the magical Australian underworld. Teams sent to deal with Scourges, except for a few exceptions, were small - small enough that the Scourge wouldnโt grow in power exponentially if the mission went awry. A buzz came from her wristband and she tapped on it. โCommander Aegis here. What seems to be the situation?โ
Heavy breathing came from the other end, as well the sound of boots against the ground. โFuck, fuck shit! Thereโs a-โ the sound cut out for a few seconds. โThereโs another one coming!โ The voice started to scream, loud and piercing, until the sound of a crunch echoed through the earpiece and left only the buzz of static.
โEveryone on your feet! Thereโs another Scourge in the area!โ
The soldiers jumped to their feet and grabbed their weapons in a rush, either used as their firepower or to strengthen their magic. Glass swirled in the air, a storm of slivers and shards that hung in the air. Then came the sound of feet upon the ground, like dry thunder.
A beast came charging out of the city, springing from building to building with grace and agility a being of its size shouldnโt have. It was emancipated horribly, wizen and wrinkled with limbs that bent at wrong angles. Its face was long and its eyes were beady, sunken deep into what barely passed as flesh. Gunfire rained onto it.
It hissed and a harsh clicking sound came from its mouth, almost insidious in its quietude. The bullets bit into the building, shattering glass which then flew up and dug into the Scourgeโs flesh. It leapt down and was shoved back by a gust of wind from an elemental, causing it to stumble back. A jagged spear of glass pierced it right through the eye and exited from everywhere else. It had gone down so fast, the turret hadnโt even had time to ready.
The soldiers cheered. Arena narrowed her eyes. That was too easy. Her mind started to rush as the adrenaline, brought back a second time and now refusing to fade, brought every little detail and thought to the surface. The Scourge was tiny. Much bigger than a human could ever be, but simply too small. It hadnโt displayed any of its magic yet, and for some reason its healing didnโt kick in quick enough to save it. Lastly, and most chilling, was that considering the speed at which it was running, there was no chance it could have gotten from the other soldiers to here in the time that it apparently did. Something was wrong.
Arena held up her hand. โSave your celebrations. Itโs not over yet.โ She waved the soldiers back from the Scourge. She paused for a split second before coming to a conclusion. โIโm going to approach the body. Lieutenant Illude, bring me to safety if anything happens.โ

I was a fisherman because my father was a fisherman. And his father was a fisherman before him; this is all my family has ever known.
I worked on my fatherโs boat as one of his deckhands for years. We caught crabs in the Bering sea. Essentially, we would dunk massive metal cages into the water, trapping the crustaceans miles below. It's a tough living, and definitely something not for the faint of heart. You wake up to the murky haze of sunrise, the sea breeze chilling your bones, the smell of salt and the fresh guts of fish clinging to your nose like rust to the hull. Ninety percent of greenhorns never make it past their first day. Many of them were drifters, new to our community. The job paid well, so it attracted men who were eager to work. And my father was always willing to give anyone a shot. But the truth of it was, the job just wasnโt for everybody.
Something always hurt: whether it was your neck, your back, or your joints. It didnโt matter. If you left the harbor in our boat, you best be prepared for the grueling day or my father would toss you over himself.
I watched many a man perish on expeditions, swallowed up by the ravenous sea. Careless or stupid or just plain unlucky.
Things had been going smoothly, though, recently. There were a lot fewer casualties and some very nice yields. A few of the older deckhands at the pub had even quoted this as a โlegendaryโ year. We drank to our good fortune. It wasnโt the same story we were hearing from some of the other vessels, but some years were better than others. It was just how the tide turned.
As I said, itโs an honest living and all Iโve ever known is Thally. It was renamed after my fatherโs first love, but heโd said if Mum ever asked it was named after the Greek Goddess of the sea. The ship had seen its fair share of tumultuous expeditions, but it always managed to steer us home with my father at the helm.
The day I realized he was in trouble, it was far too late. My father had slipped past the point of no return. In actuality, he had been slipping for months, but he was an incredibly stubborn man, impossible to deal with at times. You would just have soon put a bullet in his head if you kept him off the water. But the signs were there. His now shaky hands had once been the most steady spearfishing hands our town had ever seen. His lungs were once exceptional: many old timers at the bar claimed he could hold his breath for ten minutes. Now, he would cough out a watery tar-like residue from them. He stumbled over his words, occasionally forgetting some of the greenhornsโ and deckhands' names.
The signs were all there, and I chose to ignore them.
I think it was because he was the strongest man I ever knew; I couldnโt fathom him needing help. He taught me everythingโhow to fish, how to swim, how to gut and cook them once you were done. And that was everything in our fishing community. But I guess strong men get old too.
The only reason I caught him was the fussy latch on the door. He jiggled it in frustration as he left, another project left by the wayside. The wind swung the door open in a violent clap; the howling and whistling traveling through the home. A moment later, my coat was on and I followed him into the cold.
The conditions were wretched: the rain fell from the sky in a ruthless downpour. I followed the beacon of light from his lantern. He walked onto the dock and untied the mooring line before entering Thally. The beating of the rain was so intense it drowned out my footsteps and pleas for him to stop. But there was a whistling that could be heard. Its high-pitched tune seemed to float through the conditions, lingering by the dock.
I sprinted once the lights turned on, the motor purring. I barely managed to slide on deck before it drifted off to sea.

Iโve been on the water long enough to know we donโt belong there. This stormy night was no exception. The precarious weather would mean waves as tall as houses. In much milder conditions, it was easy to get tossed off deck, plunged into the depths of the dark unknown. High tide was not to be messed with. My father understood all of this, and yet he steered Thally into the choppy waters. The waves sloshed back and forth, creating slick pools that slid from one end to the other.
It was reckless. Unforgivable. Only a fool would steer into the eye of a storm, and my father was far from a foolish man.
He was a very superstitious man, that I knew. He believed in many silly things. Most were innocuous and standard to sailor folklore. Try to bring a banana on board (even so much as an item containing artificial flavoring, the kind youโd find in candy that tasted like awful chemicals) and heโd send you packing. Every morning heโd kiss the rosary above the helm and say a prayer before weโd dock. They made me smirk, these superstitions, but it wasnโt my place to say anything. Our best years came under his reign, and when he made money, we all made moneyโincluding all of the businesses down the supply chain. The man just seemed to have a knack for it. He knew all the sweet spots and had a feel for where we should be.
Lightning sparked above us. I held onto the railing and stumbled my way toward the entrance of the wheelhouse. The thunder that followed made me flinch. It erupted above, sending trails of jagged light zig-zagging across the cluster of ominous clouds. I twisted the handle, but it didn't move. I could see a faint hue of light past the cloudy glass and the steps ascending upwards, but no sign of my father. Banging on the door was useless, the water continued to pummel everything in its wake, drowning out the noise.
Except for the whistling. It was steady. Unwavering. The calm song seemed to dance above the water, hovering around the main deck.
I threw my hands up in frustration. My father had finally lost it. They always said too much time at sea would do that to you.
Searching for something to help me gain access, I held onto the handle for dear life. With a sudden jerk of the ocean, my hand slipped. I rolled across the deck, my back slamming against the railing on the periphery. My cheek felt cold against the soaked wood floors. A gush of water quickly followed, flowing into my face and sneaking into the crevices of my raincoat, invading my wooly sweater and long johns underneath. I moaned in agony, spitting out a sticky gob of salt and blood.
The boat continued to teeter violently with the waves in large, helpless dips. I managed to get to my knees, desperately clutching the railing. My back felt like it had been scorched. All the while, I cursed my father.
I needed to find shelter or it was a matter of time before I would be underwater. The main deck was largely open. It would be impossible to get to the living quarters or engine room, the water was too treacherous and the distance too far. I needed to go back the way I came and get to my father before it was too late.
Amidst the haze of the rain, I spotted the tool bench that housed some basic tools. I waited until the ebb and flow of the waves had mellowed before timing my staggered run. When the deck leveled, I ran. I felt the muggy squish of salt water between my water-logged boots. As the boat began to rise again, I grasped one of the railing barriers wrapped around the metal bench. A wave of water dropped down, chopping at my body. I swayed momentarily before my feet were sent airborne. The arctic chill brought shivers as it whipped my drenched skin. I gasped. The tips of my fingers were numb as I scrambled to my feet.
Once the waves settled, I fiddled with the combination. The lock clicked open, and I grabbed the first two objects that looked like they could do damageโan iron mallet and a pair of pliersโand waited for the next sequence of waves to settle. I trudged back toward the stairs. The waves tilted the boat at a harsh angle. I stumbled, losing grip of one of the tools. The pliers skidded away in the darkness, disappearing into the black waters. I clutched the mallet for dear life.
The window vibrated with every heavy thud. I brought the mallet down as hard as I could, my arms trembling. After a couple of powerful whacks, tiny spiderweb cracks began to emerge. It eventually shattered, allowing me to reach in and unlock the door.
โFather!โ I bellowed up the stairs. My hands slid up the guard rail as the cool steel supported my clumsy steps.
โCharlie?โ he called back. His eyes were full of terror: wide and jittery. โWhat are you doing here?โ
โWhat are you doing here?โ I shouted back. โLook outside! We need to turn back!โ
Someone else stood by my fatherโs side. He stared blankly out the window, gripping the wheel. His long, ashy-white locks draped down from his head like thick sections of rope. He looked dressed and ready to work: a brown leather apron, and a cracked leather bucket hat, the string browned and weathered around his chin. The man glanced back at me, a grave look on his face.
โWho is this?โ I asked.
โHe shouldnโt be here, Ferris,โ the man warned.
My father's hands shot to his face. The one missing a ring finger caressed his beard in panic. โOh, Lord. What are we to do now?โ he cried.
โWhat do you mean? Have you both gone mad?โ I stormed the helm and pulled the wheel in the opposite direction. The older man held firm, battling me for control.
โTurn around!โ I pleaded.
The man roared back, โFerris, do something!โ
The waves continued to wobble the boat violently from side to side.
โCharlie. Please stop!โ my father begged. He gripped the top of my hand and tried to pry my fingers from the wheel.
โAre you crazy, Father? We are going to capsize!โ The pressure from his hands finally was too much. I shrugged him off of me, and he dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes. He then drifted toward the opposite wall, dragged from one end to the other by the tide. Next, I leaned my weight against the man steering the ship. To my surprise, I fell right through him. I stared helplessly from the floor, my mouth ajar at the ghastly revelation. He barely glanced back, his narrow umber brown stare kept firm on the water.
The boat abruptly stopped before I could react. I was launched toward the window, my shoulder colliding with the switchboard. My father was a crumpled heap on the floor. Only the sound of clattering rain filled the air for a moment.
The light was undeniable past the foggy wet window. Blinding. A radiant glow of aquamarine encompassed the outside of the ship.
The man spoke, walking to the door, โItโs time to go.โ
The ground felt steady, the rocking ceased. But my father still held the wall as he stepped toward the exit. Seeing him then, he appeared frail and uneasy.

Good day to all, I have a bit of a story and request. My father has Alzheimerโs, itโs pretty bad. To the point where he has fits of rage, attacks my mother, and doesnโt recognize people that once were familiar to him (happens more often than not). A few months ago we were on track to get a power of attorney for my dad. My mother out of nowhere put a halt to it and for a little over a month we have just given up. We went out of our way to get her an attorney, the attorney was trying her hardest to make it happen but my mom was so resistant that the attorney finally gave up.
My brother and I are checked out. We have tried to get her home health, tried to get her resources to help her and my father out but she still persists in doing things her way (which is doing nothing) and she has now been beaten up by my father to the point of having to call the police. That still wasnโt a wake up call for her.

Ive been experimenting a bit with boofing high abv "craft" beers. i tried ipas but honestly they just gave off a hipster suburban vibe I dont fuck with. I tried tripels and quads but then I felt lile some kinda sissy eurosnob holding out my pinkey as I boofed. turns out for my money the best beer to induce fast and powerful diarrhea is barrel aged saisons. My go to is from The Hopped Hop Bro & Bearded Boy nanobrewery down on South Franklin street. it clocks in around 12% and with a nice punch of lactose it seems to liquify my innards in no time.

Hi all
My brother and I purchased the TCL 65QLED860 yesterday and we spent the whole day setting it up and calibrating it and we finally landed on some amazing stuff, was overall joyous with it.
Then the curiosity came and we opened the secret menu by pressing "1950" when hovering over Contrast, to verify the refresh rate and to my brothers misfortune, when trying to click Return, he enabled a weird setting which turned the screen pink, we couldnt interact with the tv anymore so we cut the power off and booted it up again only to learn it was now showing "P MODE" with a flashing text overlay, we disabled the P-SITA thingy and it removed the text overlay(guided by another reddit psot) but we felt something was off so we ultimately decided to factory reset by reset shop and reset settings.
After the initial setup again, we noticed that a lot of our settings are missing from Motion Settings and Adaptive Settings.
In Motion settings we had the following: - Motion Clarity - Clear LED Motion - Blur Reduction - Judder Reduction
and in Adaptive Settings we had the following: - Adaptive Brightness - Adaptive Content
After the factory reset we now lost "Motion Clarity" from Motion settings and we lost "Adaptive Content" from Adaptive Settings.
We checked if we had any firmware updates on the tv but to no avail, it has the latest update according to system settings.
The overall clarity of the panel now looks odd and as if its slightly choppy eventhough we calibrated everything to what we had previously (we also enabled the All Inputs for the settings so they stick), we are also aware that calibration is weird depending on which input signal is current and what content is playing, so we made sure to calibrate in the exact same way as yesterday.
What the hell happened? how do we get the other settings back?Please, if anyone can help, our OCD is driving us nuts, i have a feeling that the reason the picture is abit choppy is related to the lost motion clarity option which we can no longer adjust because its gone.

EDIT: I read in another reddit post that there was some quirks with the hdmi ports enabling some weird stuff and resetting settings despite All Inputs being ticked, so i thought id try and remove all HDMI cables from the tv, restart the TV and for some reason it started the initial bootup setup again, this time it fast forwarded through most of it but it looked like it searched for extra updates and installed some extra finishing touches and apps, to our surprise, our settings are now back!
Looks like something went wrong in the bootup setup after our factory reset and thus it didnt setup everything, but it looks fine for now.

- When learning a new board game, it is helpful when the rules are organized into clear and distinct categories. For example, it's important to understand that the player can only take one action per turn, so having a clear outline of their options is beneficial. Using mnemonics, such as Dominionโs ABC turn structure or El Grandeโs reminder about "The king's region being taboo", is incredibly useful. These help players remember the rules and make it easier to teach the game. Overall, outlines and mnemonics are valuable tools for players to remember how to play the game.
- Give examples to handle edge cases. \1])
- Avoid flooding your rulebook by giving obvious examples of what cards and actions do. Most players will understand obvious moves and plays by reading the regular rules, but they wonโt necessarily understand cases that conflict with obvious play. If you donโt illustrate edge cases, players will have to search for rules on forums during or after their plays, which is annoying at least as that information is expected to be provided by the rulebook. Players want to have a handle on what theyโre doing, so give them that handle. A great example of this is Glory to Rome. Glory to Rome is a complex game with lots of card combos and interactions, yet the rulebook offers helpful examples in its supplement of how cards interact together. Puerto Rico is a game that has similarly accounted for complex building interactions in its rulebook (despite some of its other faults).
- Highlight easy-to-forget rules. \1][2])
- This is something that sets apart great rulebooks from passable ones. Do everything you can to make sure players are playing correctly. Make sure readers donโt forget. One example of this is Ticket to Rideโs wild draw rule, which interrupts an otherwise clean order of operations. This rule could easily be forgotten, but the rulebook calls it out clearly.
- Reduce needless words (but keep those that are needed). \1])
- Reading most rulebooks takes time and effort that players much rather spend on other things. So keep them as short as possible. If you can reference other sections without restating or rephrasing rules, do that. However, make sure that you include most of what's important or might come up during the game, so that people do not have to search the internet for that information.Be sure to find the perfect sweet-spot for your rulebook and keep in mind that sometimes it might even be better to have two seperate rulebooks, one that includes an in-depth deep-dive and one that goes over the basics and references to the main rulebook for a more detailed explaination. One example that comes to mind for that is Wingspan wich comes with a regular rulebook and a quickstart guide for reference helping those who have played the game remembering parts of the game without the need of reading through the whole rulebook again.
- Use terms consistently. \1][2])
- This is very important. If victory points are called โprestigeโ, donโt call it "points" someplace else. If โrepelโ and โignoreโ have the same effect in game, then use one term or the other. No one wants to learn a language to learn a new game. Some degree of this is necessary in any game, but keep the keywords to a minimum, and above all, keep them consistent. If you are designing a game with a theme close to multiple other games or something that is in a well-known and established genre of games, then consider using already known terms. It is much easier for players to remember what it means to put a card from hand into the discard pile if you call it "discard" rather than "scrapping", which is also a common word in a bunch of games but has another mechanic behind it. Dominion is a good example here. Just a few key terms โ Actions, Gain, Buy, Card โ and they are used so consistently that even brand-new cards are easy to understand at a glance, and the rules explain them clearly if they forget.
- Offer diagrams when helpful. \1][2])
- A picture is sometimes worth a thousand words. You obviously donโt need pictures for everything, but they can be helpful, especially in games where spatial placement is important. In Oasis, for example, the diagrams clearly outline where players can place tiles and markers on the board.
- Organize information intuitively. \1])
- There should be a flow to the rulebook that follows the natural way you might teach the game to new players (since this is effectively what youโre doing). You also want to place rules under headings where you think players will look them up (A helpful diagram for this comes from Ed Marriott, designer of Scoville). Choose a layout that wonโt upset readers and that will serve as a useful reference during gameplay. You can learn more about that in (coming soon).
- Consider game aids or reference cards. \1])
- Some games have complex interactions, lots of unique cards or many terms to keep in mind. Do you need a reference sheet that explains cards (Dominion / Glory to Rome)? A glossary that defines terms and keywords (Innovation)? Or an accessible setup guide or chart for different numbers of players (Power Grid)? Whatever it is, most but the simplest games benefit from such additions, even if most games do not come with them. This is why you can find fan made player aids all over the internet. If you want to up your game, consider adding something like that to your game.
- Blindtest your rulebook. \1][2])
- One of the most common mistake a rulebook writer or game designer can make is to not blindtest their rulebook. Approach people who know nothing about your game and ask them what questions they have after reading the rules. This will help you exit the echo chamber of your own biases and see the real gaps in your logic, as a whole lot of people are out there with their own set of experiences and knowledge about games in general. You will be surprised what kind of feedback you get when doing so, as some questions will come up that you would never have considered doing, or maybe you'll get asked about things that seemed highly self-explainatory to you before.
- Write a lot. \2])
- It is best to approach writing your rulebook in stages. By capturing all that comes to mind on notes, either in paper form or in a form of note app, you will very easily stumble upon the first unclear and confusing rules that you then can word diffrently. Maybe you will even come across redundant rules that you would have never noticed by the sole thought about the rule. Write rules for creating your rulebook where you outline terminology or layout for example. Finally, make sections and subsections easier to find by using consistent formatting and legible fonts like Calibri or Arial. It's important to remember that rulebooks are an iterative process, and you will likely write multiple versions before completion. Bringing a rough draft of the rules to playtesting is a great way to take notes and improve your rulebook over time.
- Use textformatation consistently. \2])
- Overall your goal for rulebook writing is clarity and consistency. If anything you do seems to detract from that then you need to rethink what youโre doing. Writing down how you will use capitals, bold, italics, or any other special formatting will help you applying those rules uniformly throughout your rulebook.
- Let your friends read the rulebook or hire a professional. \1][2])
- To avoid confusing rulebooks, it is recommended to have multiple people review your rules, including friends and a professional editor. While having friends review your rulebook can be helpful, hiring a professional editor can ensure that your language is clear and follows best practices in the board game industry. (Even experienced writers at Meeple Mountain have their work reviewed by others.) While it is possible to hire more than one editor, it is generally not necessary unless the rulebook is particularly complex. In that case, it may be better to hire a larger editing company. Ultimately, the decision of who to hire is up to the game creator.

Religion and its cousin theology, then, are seen as a roadblock to being spiritual. But can you truly be spiritual without a connection to the Trinity and the ideas expressed in the Creed?
The question of what makes an experience authentically spiritual is not new. One of the longest letters in the New Testament, 1 Corinthians, is an extended attempt by the apostle Paul to refine the Corinthiansโ understanding of spirituality. Paulโs perspective undergirds the thrust of the whole book: the most authentically Christian experiences of God are Trinitarian, and these Trinitarian experiences fundamentally shape the way we engage one another and the world around us.
In 1 Corinthians 1โ4, for example, Paul addresses the division and infighting that had taken over the church. Surely, you might say, the doctrine of the Trinity cannot apply to the problems they were having. However, when we consider the clear action of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, we see how Trinitarian theology is at the heart of Paulโs response.
After detailing the issue of division (1 Cor 1:10โ17),
I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me by Chloeโs people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. If you want to know the Fatherโs heart, you must look at Jesus, particularly his willingness to suffer for others. You cannot truly have God without a suffering Jesus. This is not ivory-tower theology for Paul. If Jesus reveals what God is like, then we too should live for others rather than dominating them (2:1โ5).8
And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1โญ-โฌ5 ESV
According to Paul, if the Corinthians truly understood Trinitarian theology, they would not treat each other this way. Not stopping at the Father and Son, Paul then makes an extended appeal to the Spirit: those who are led by the Spirit will follow the wisdom of God displayed by the crucified Christ (2:6โ3:4). Spirit people will be cross people, sacrificing themselves for one another rather than trying to control and best one another.

Today as moved trailers to and fro around our yard at work I ran into an old friend of mine, a union brother who has been working at UPS for 22 years. I was excited to see him, we chatted about this and that and then we parted ways.
But in-thereof lied the real story. Twenty two years. This man has worked here before many of his supervisors were born. This man has lifted millions of tons of boxes and seen tens of thousands walk through the gates. This man has sorted, swept, unloaded, loaded, driven, responded to hazardous spills, taken workers to the hospital and has even gotten thrown off a donkey that was set up by Red Bull in our parking lot in the early 2000s as part of some weird publicity stunt. He told me the story of the old way grievances at work were settled, with an undercover fight club that was broken up by the police a few years later outside the management bar, which is across the street from the union one.
Last year Darryl broke his back in a pretty bad car accident. He was adamant to get back to work but it still took him about 4 months of PT to be able to function. 4 months of FULLY UNION PAID PT. If he worked at an Amazon he would have been thrown to the streets. This wonderful man wold have not been able to celebrate his daughters 17th birthday with a trip to Halloween horror nights at Disney. This man, but for the power of our union is discardable to the capitalist class that only sees profit. They donโt his vulgar jokes and horrible taste in food or the 20 tape guns he hides around the building like a pack rat. They donโt see his daughter who is about to graduate and go to a distinguished art school or the mother that he cares for in a house he built next to his own. They only see a bottom line for their shareholders 5th vacation home in the Maldives staffed by modern slaves.
In about 8 years Darryl is looking to retire, having subjected himself to one of the most physically demanding jobs in the building solely because he enjoys talking to the new hires and getting them their union chops. He will retire with a full pension, something we as a country have almost forgotten was the norm for working class people for generations and is now a pipe dream for most. And I assume his weird ass will move to Orlando and spend every waking moment at Disney.
