We’re a few weeks out and just finalized our attendee list.
My fiancé and I are visiting my parents and wanted to show them the table assignments we had put together.
Right when we bring this up, my mom says “I’ll show you what I have!”, pulls out a list she made on her own, and starts telling us how it will be.
When we start mentioning some of the differences we have on the assignments we had put together, she shut us down immediately: she says she has already told various guests who they’re sitting with.

1. I’m pretty upset that she told guests where they are sitting without running it by us first.
   
2. My fiancé and I disagree with her about who should be at the “primary two tables” (there is a sweetheart table for us, no wedding party, but two 10-seaters on either side of us). We wanted our closest family members there. She has her close friends there instead, displacing our closest family members to tables further back.
   
3. Is this common? That MoB unilaterally decides seating without input from the couple?
   
4. Should I just let this go? I’ve been steamrolled about a shit ton of stuff. I’m exhausted. I’m torn between feeling like I should stand up for once vs just trying to suck it up so I don’t cause waves.
   

Most days I cross all my T’s and dot all my i’s. And other days, I fuck everything up.
My day starts with a plan. 10am, clean out returned car. 1pm, pick up returned car from airport. 5pm pick up kids from school.
9:30am, about to leave to clean out my 10am car. I get a call and surprise, my 4 year old is sick. Okay. Whatever. I’ll do my best to take care of the days tasks with them. I wash car the car before receiving my child. Then I get a same day booking for 2:30pm. While I have my child, I clean the interior.
11:30am, I am getting ready to Uber to the airport to pick up my 1pm return. Surprise, school calls and my 7 year old is sick. I take my 4 year old, drop off my car for the 2:30pm pick up, then go to pick up sick kid #2.
12:30pm. I got 2 sick kids with me. I ask my 7 year old if they felt like throwing up and don’t want to go anywhere. They say they are fine. I call the Uber. I’m worried about my 4 year old throwing up but I forget to bring a bag. Surprise, 7 year old throws up in Uber. I apologize to the driver and ask them to take us back home. Nicest driver in the world. I pay $38 for the Uber, I give them $140 (all the cash I had on me) so they can hire a professional cleaner, and I help them wet vac their car.
Several days later, my 2:30pm last minute booking is returned. Car is full of pet hair and smells like dog. Tank is also less than 1/4 full. I go to check my pretrip photos and I have none. In all my shit going on during the day with my 2 kids, I forgot to take photos.
Luckily, the renter took 3 interior pre trip photos, so I got my $150 for the dog. But the $66 for their gas, I am shit out of luck. At least the pet fee covered the gas.
Let’s add that up. $38 Uber to nowhere. $34 airport parking fee because I let it sit overnight. $140 for Uber throw up. $66 for guest gas. $278 in expenses.
Most days I do okay. Some days I just fuck everything up.
Bright side is, at least my car was not involved in an accident. Otherwise I’d be fucked.

This may well end up being long winded but I’m at the end of my tether.
I live next to an airbnb and share an off road parking area with them. 3 and a bit cars wide, airbnb in space one on left, me in the middle, and another resident on the right.
More than once (as recently as yesterday) my car has had a door opened into it by the person staying in the airbnb. There are no cameras currently and not really any suitable vantage points to install one. I’ve taken a photo of the way the car is parked (awfully and at an angle with their rear drivers side being about a foot closer to my car than the front driver’s side) which includes their VRN along with what is pretty obviously a fresh mark on the edge of their rear driver’s side door and the dent left on my car’s rear passenger side quarter.
What can I do in this situation? As it stands it’s entirely my word against theirs but anyone that would look at the situation would probably come to the same conclusion. The guests have checked out now so speaking to them directly is now not an option, however I have spoken to the management company of the airbnb previously about multiple other issues so there is an avenue of communication there.

For anyone who is interested in the GRF vocation pls be warned that it is pretty much extra 3 months of pobc with more in-depth training. However do not expect it to be slack since you have been in HTA for 3/5months alr and hold the rank of SC higher standards are expected of you. Everyone must meet ippt silver( 11.15min run and 10 pull ups minimum) and small matters like untidy bunk/buying vending machine drinks without permission will result in confinement basically HTA management is just extremely nit-picky over everything rn not eating your veggies will also result in confinement(not a joke). Honestly the only upside is the free license and the experience outside. If u dont mind staying an extra 3 months enduring HTA’s bs and want the free license i wish all the best to you:) if not other vocations are leagues better

I work the night audit at a hotel in Michigan. And officer came into the lobby and asked to see my reg book. This is not something I've really discussed in years (I worked here before the pandemic and had to quit during that. I just started back a month ago) and the last I was told I don't need to comply unless it's "exigent circumstances". So I told the officer "no I can't provide guest info without a warrant" she got prissy and left. She returned with her supervisor and hour later and ooooo boy was he passed. I got my manager in and they talked with her, got the reg book. They were completely unprofessional and had threatened to charge me for not complying.
So I've been trying to find an answer. There is a city ordinance that would require me to give over my reg book at any time for any reason, but there was also a Supreme Court ruling that struck down a similar ordinance in LA in 2015 ruling it a violation of the 4th ammendment.
