2023.03.22 10:35 TheBeautyToHisBeasty Is anyone else getting fraudulent transactions from big name companies???

I woke up this morning and had notifications saying my cash app card had been declined due to insufficient funds for 3 separate very large charges. The first and second were at 4:03 & 4:05am from Geico in Washington DC for $3,323.50!! The last one was at 4:15 from Greenville Casualty Insurance in Greer, SC for $555.72 I don’t live in either of those states and neither company is MY insurance company. I have no idea how they got my card information. I already claimed that card as compromised and ordered a new one. I can’t dispute them since they never went through, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing or something similar recently?? I would like to know if these people are hacking my account bc I slipped up somewhere or if they are hacking a bunch of accounts in another way.

2023.03.22 03:04 Schmolik64 New Women's Basketball Regional Format??

For those who are following the women's tournament, the format for the regionals is slightly different than the men's tournament in one big way and this is new for 2023. Rather than four regional sites for the Sweet 16, there are only two regional sites, Greenville, SC and Seattle. Now the format I thought they were going to do and would make sense for me would be that both sites would host four Sweet 16 games on one day and two regional finals on the same day and you can attend all four Sweet 16 games on one ticket (or two games in day and night sessions) and both regional finals on one ticket. But instead both Greenville and Seattle will host games on all four days, two semifinals Friday, two semifinals Saturday, one regional final Sunday, and one regional final Monday.
I don't see how this is better for the women's game. Why not just keep it four regional sites then? I don't think they are running out of sites, women's basketball is growing, the NCAA bragged that attendance at 1st/2nd round games are the highest it has ever been. This format is forcing UConn to have to travel all the way to Seattle for its regional when they could be playing way closer to home.

2023.03.21 23:09 No_Transition7509 What cities to move to post-college?

I'll be an incoming freshman this fall, who currently resides in central Florida. While I have no concrete career plan, my appeal is toward public relations, advertising, teaching, data science, data analytics, and EdTech. I am a sucker for small and medium-sized cities that are in proximity to a metro (think Greenville, SC, Chattanooga, TN, etc.). I love music, singing, good eats, and being able to think. I get overstimulated easily which is why I could never see myself in a big city long-term. I'm also not a super big party person so nightlife isn't crazy to me. I enjoy big city amenities, skylines, modern downtown areas, apartments/townhomes, and good vibes. I am politically moderate so I don't mind living in one or the other in that sense. If possible, I try to avoid extreme cold/long winters/lots of snow. I'm originally from the Boston area so I don't miss that.

Other factors that may be helpful: I'm mixed race (puerto rican/cape verdean), I'm bi (but wouldn't go to pride events or anything, but at least some inclusivity would be nice), and I am a male.

Looking for somewhere to move to after college (or even now, for college/same state). Would love any and all recommendations, thank you!

2023.03.21 21:02 Pert_Menace Girl I have been seeing ghosted me

I (22M) Have been seeing a girl (22F) for more than 2 months now. Right from the start we hit it off. Our first date was at a pizza place where we sat and talked for about 2 hours then we had to leave because they were closing. The 2nd time seeing her we just ate at her place, watched tv, and hung out. We talked about what we wanted in a relationship and everything lined up. She did let me know from the start she was moving less than 2 hours from where I live. She was already more than an hour away so we agreed to try and continue when she moves. That Night I even stayed over, she made it clear that she didn't want to do anything sexual until she was comfortable with it, which she said could be a while. That was fine, she was so great I could care less so we just cuddled and went to sleep. She even let me sleep in while she went to work and I left later that day. Things were great, we agreed on politics, life views, had similar morals, and just clicked perfectly. At this point in my young life, I have had a handful of serious relationships (one lasting more than 2 years) and a decent number of hookups. No woman has ever made me feel so grate.
Well, about a month in she told me that for a number of reasons she didn't think she can handle a relationship. Her new job will make her very busy and worried that I wouldn't get what I need out of the relationship. On top of that the move, and for various reasons she has trouble having strong feelings towards anyone romanticly or sexually. She reassured me it's been like this for years and had nothing to do with me. We agreed to still see each other as friends and stay in touch. She told me she is going to start talking with professionals and when she starts to feel better she wanted to continue and that we would stay in touch for that purpose. I saw her again took her out to a nice dinner that we already had planned before, talked more about how she felt, and left off on the same page. I told her that I still had intense feelings for her and I might flirt and buy her things but would pressure her or make any unwanted advances. She seemed to understand and was okay with it mostly. Same plan as before just friends for the time but she told me I can visit her once she moves and we can talk and text when she is free.
Now, these whole 2 months she was never a big texter claiming she just doesn't use her phone much. Somewhat bs because every time we would hang out she would be on it as much as anyone in our age group(way too much). But she is very busy so I understood. I am affectionate and asked several times if it bothered her that I texted her more than she did me. It was never spam like "where are you, hey, hey you free?" Just a meme or a thought I had I would text her and later that day or the next day she would get back to me. Several times she said it was totally fine.
We get to last night we were on the normal text pattern, maybe a little slower than usual. I sent her a meme on Instagram I saw that she had seen it. This morning doing my AM scroll, the same thing but her name doesn't come up when I go to send. Her account is gone, sc is gone, cell phone is straight to voice mail. Just cut off. I hadn't made any flirtatious remarks or anything out of the ordinary. The last thing I texted was responding to her asking if I like the book she told me to read.
I'm at a loss, curious if I should have seen it coming even though in the past weeks she has told me specifically she wouldn't do this. Just want to be mad and say screw her but only sadness arises.

2023.03.21 12:49 stovetopbrand Advice on weighing potential options

Disclaimer: Neither of these positions are guaranteed as I'll get to soon. This is hypothetical as if I were offered both.
Background: I'm a bit rusty, but spent a bit over a year in a local pizza joint before they closed when business was too slow picking up post-lockdown. Just pizza, salad, and sandwiches. Open kitchen, only manner of cooking was a pizza oven, we all did everything, no servers, hand washed dishes, ran register and such. Also an okay home cook. Did spend a tiny bit of time other places, but (now resolved) health issues made it near impossible for me to physically hold a job in any field that would hire me. Turns out they're right when they say alcohol will kill you, cuz I almost died. Anyway...
I have two interviews coming up for two very different positions in two different kinds of restaurants. I was recommended for both places by old co-workers. Obviously it's not 100% I'll be offered both or even one, but my chances are good at both places with the recs. This is all hypothetical. They pay about the same.
Option 1: Manager at a smaller pizza chain, think Cici's but not quite. Shitty mass produced food. Guy who recommended me never even worked food service before he got in there and it seems like they just want someone who can manage and don't much care if you can cook. As stated, I've done pizza and a few other things, and I was assistant manager at a very large retailer for some time, but never managed a restaurant. I also hate dealing with customers and shitty people working under me, but between retail and food I've done it my whole adult life and can make it work. 40-50 hours a week, not awful for the industry.
Option 2: Line cook at a local restaurant and bar downtown. Scratch kitchen. Decent, real food. But I've never cooked on the line at a place with a full kitchen with multiple stations. I can still learn, but I'm rusty on top of aging (30 years old) and potential brain damage. I would actually prefer this to get new knowledge, but don't know if I'll be able to keep up. Not an open kitchen and wouldn't have to deal with trying to keep people in "their place," just focus on getting a job done. Hours unknown thus far.
Both make me anxious, I haven't worked in general in months because of the whole almost dying thing. But imagine if both of these were offered to you, what would you rather do?
