Went to install a waterblock on my 4080 FE and noticed some changes to the PCB layout. I freaked out when it didn’t match the images provided by EK and thought I somehow damaged it. Then I remembered they changed the chip to AD103-301 which I guess resulted in changes to the PCB. They don’t look too significantly different. Do you think the waterblock is still fully compatible?
New vs Old

I wanted to finally seek the advice of other voices other than my own - or my mothers. I met my partner while working abroad in the US and although we didn’t speak the same language we fell in love and he has since visited me in my home in Europe and this is the second time I have been to Mexico.
I found out that I was pregnant after I returned home from my first trip to Mexico in January. Since then, my life has turned upside down. I had pause my college studies (currently in year 3 of 4), move out of rented accommodation and return home. Im in my early twenties so I knew the path I chose was going to be difficult but I also knew that this baby would keep me and my partner together because the distance has truly been so difficult. My father helped me pay for my flights to return to Mexico to spend the next few months working on my relationship with my partner and living somewhere with good weather and an economy I could afford. We had planned to move out and find a place of our own, but since we were only staying 6 months before I returned to my country, his parents thought it best that I life with them and my partner so we can save money and be with them.
What a nightmare this has proven to be. I adore my partners dad, he has a gruff exterior but he’s been kind and always buys me my favorite treats when he returns from work. He has offered to pay for all of my medical expenses if I stay in Mexico and has put no pressure on me. We get on really well!
My partners mother is a different story - I really thought she would be the easier person to deal with because she was so lovely my first visit, this time she has taken it upon herself to dictate my entire pregnancy. I am 12 weeks now and for my 8 week appointment she sat in with me and my partner (without my consent) as my partner translated what the doctor said to me as my Spanish isn’t great. She asked multiple questions about brought up my eating habits to the fact that I’ve been treating my headaches with paracetamol. I felt like a surrogate while everyone discussed my body around me. I have also had terrible nausea since I arrived and one thing I have not craved is Mexican food - I just want familiarity and I certainly don’t have an appetite to be eating new foods I’m not used to. She has made me feel so bad about this and has become obsessed with my eating habits, constantly asking me what I have eaten, when and what I will eat later - it’s driving me insane. She is also extreme when it comes to cleaning and order - the home is immaculate. I am clean and tidy myself but she has taken it to a new extreme. Since I have been staying home, she is there all of the time. If I clean my room, she does it again while I’m having a shower. (Leaving it looking the same as I left it). I am constantly trying to keep up with her and ask her if she needs help but she implies that I’m incapable of doing it myself.
To add to these frustrations, my Spanish isn’t great but since I’ve been here I have made a real effort to communicate with both parents, and they do understand me most of the time - I am almost overcompensating when there’s been no attempt to speak English to me. The first thing she does when she’s angry is use it as an excuse to give out about how I understand nothing here. I understand more Spanish than I can speak and there have been multiple occasions that she has blatantly spoken badly about me in front of me because she assumes I don’t understand.
My relationship with my partner hasn’t been ideal either and we have had some serious arguments since I’ve been here in which is mother involves herself in each time. He has been very secretive about this past because he doesn’t want to upset me (ideally maintain his own image that he was only ever with one other person). I’ve always been completely transparent but I have found him lying to me constantly and when I found his old phone and he wouldn’t give me the password it set off another argument.
Another note is - I have taken Prozac for my depression for years and when I needed a new prescription here in Mexico of course his mother sat in on the appointment and took it upon herself to ask if it was safe to take during pregnancy (undermining the fact I had previously spoken to my doctor about it).
Bottom line, do you think I should just return home? I hope I have been clear about my situation but I’ve been here mainly to make it work with my partner before we have a child together. It’s proving to be exhausting and sometimes I think going home where I have friends and family, speak them language and can communicate with my doctor might be the best option.

Hi all,
In my neck of the woods, the house I've lived in for the past ~2.5 years has experienced over 7 multi-hour long power outages. I'm not really interested in getting a generator right now, but I'm considering a battery backup solution. I'm looking at a Victron inverter charger for my system and some rack mounted LiFePO4 batteries to power everything. It has a built-in transfer switch so I don't think I need a manual transfer switch or interlock during an outage My understanding is I want to wire it so it goes main panel -> invertecharger AC input, invertecharger AC output -> critical loads sub panel. My main questions are is installing a sub panel complicated at all or pretty simple to DIY, and for ground and neutral would I run both a neutral and a ground back to the main panel or just the ground? Additionally next to my main panel is a box that holds all the wires for phone lines/coax/etc so I would probably have to put my subpanel next to that. If the load wires aren't long enough to reach the new panel would I be allowed to use wire nuts or Wago connectors to extend them with some more romex? Your answers and any additional feedback or advice is all greatly appreciated! :)

I'm Mexican but grew up here in MN. 30 years old, 5'11" and 210 lbs. So a little chubby but I have been more active lately and have actually lost weight, about 40 lbs, over the winter.
Lately I've been trying to stay away from TV and reading more but I do enjoy a good movie or TV show. Mysteries/Fantasy are probably my favorite genres right alongside documentaries and other non fiction material. The Wire is my favorite show to give you some idea of the things I vibe with.
I love music and I like to write it as well. I play guitar along with some other instruments. I'm always down for live music and Jazz is my favorite kind of music. I enjoy photography whenever possible. Generally invovling going for a hike and snapping nature pics.
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. I'm a sucker for a nice piece of cookware and cutlery. Bread baking is something I've been into for a while as well. When not cooking I love trying new places and experiencing new cuisines. Definitely not a same meal every day kind of guy.
I'm 420 friendly and imbibe frequently. I also enjoy a good drink, preferably straight whiskey, but I'll try anything once.
Not sure I even believe in love. Not sure I even think life has any meaning at this point. What I am sure about is one of the few things that actually has some meaning is the connection we make with others. A deep, intimate and meaningful bond is something I haven't made yet but still holding a smidge of hope it can happen.

1) Whisper of the Dead

(Comparable to Diablo 3 bounties)

Completing various objectives (could be dungeons, open world events, world bosses, pvp bosses, pvp altar conversion, etc) will fill up your Grim Favors gauge (displayed at the bottom of the map screen).
The more rewarding objectives are displayed in a deeper red, the lesser in a pale pink. There is a daily/gated component to it, meaning you will run out of deep red objectives if you do them all day.
Once your Grim Favors gauge is full, you have to speak to the Tree in a small town (forgot the name) of Hawezar swamp region (south east of the map, there is a "skull with red branches" icon).
The Tree will reward you with experience and give you a bounty cache (you can choose amongst a few), the cache will have a high chance to drop legendary items and nightmare sigils, among other things.
Difficulty
Easy and chill. Can pick the objectives you want to complete since they are so varied.
Rewards

• Nightmare Sigils (actually a good source of them).
• Experience.
• Legendary items.

2) Helltide events

(Comparable to Diablo 2 terror zones)

A big area randomly and periodically becomes corrupted (appears red on the map). New and more dangerous monsters, bosses and events will spawn there, including a very strong roaming boss named "Kixxarth The Forerunner" that usually requires a group to be defeated (or a very strong build, to be soloed).
Killing stuff there awards Aberrant Cinders, which will allow you to open chests (Tortured Gifts) scattered in the region, those chests give a specific legendary (the type of which is indicated on the chest) and a unique crafting material called "Fiend Rose", which is not found anywhere else, allowing you upgrade your gear to the highest rank.
Difficulty

• Excluding the roaming boss "Kixxarth The Forerunner", the event is largely soloable and overall pretty easy if you have a half decent build, but it's more efficient to do in group. It may be moderately challenging early on at lower level or if your build isn't well optimized.

Rewards

• Fiend Rose (crafting material which allows you to upgrade your gear to the latest rank, can't be obtained anywhere else).
• Targetted Legendary items (can target farm the type of item you need, since the chests tell you what type of item is offered).

3) World Bosses

(Comparable to Loot Piñatas)

In endgame CBT, World Bosses spawned every hour or so. When they are 30 minutes away from spawning, an icon will show up on the map with a countdown. (I don't know if they will change the frequency for release).
World Bosses always spawn on a timer, in one of their dedicated arena, an empty area on the map which stands out (there are a few scattered across the map), they never spawn randomly/suddenly just anywhere in the open world (unlike what some early official clips show).
If I remember correctly, the icon/timer will only show up on your map if you have explored nearby. It's a good idea to explore various corners of the map early on so you have a portal ready to quick travel to them.
Difficulty
Slightly challenging early on, very easy at high level with a half decent build.
Rewards

• Scattered Prism (used to socket your gear, can't be obtained anywhere else).
• Legendary items.

4) PVP area farming

Now wether you like PVP or not, the PVP area offers one of the most viable way to farm legendary equip (at least this was the case in endgame cbt).
There are a lot of monsters there, which you can farm for Seed of Hatred (or even regular gear, since density is pretty good). Seed of Hatred is a currency which, once converted via the PVP altars, allows you to gamble for gear (also offers a few cosmetics). In endgame CBT it was the most viable way to farm gear, and so most players didn't Bloodmark (pvp flag) themselves so they could cooperate and simply PVE farm.
Bloodmarking oneself allows you to attack anyone (including non-Bloodmarked players), it's basically "hostile mode", and doing so increases your Seed of Hatred rate, but you can choose not to Bloodmark yourself and cooperate with other non-Bloodmarked players to simply farm PVE monsters. This will not prevent you from being attacked by hostile "Bloodmarked" players though.
Difficulty

• Extremely variable depending on the hostile Bloodmarked players present. PVE monsters themselves are moderately challenging (easy with a half decent build). The roaming boss Khazra Abomination can be challenging and depending on your class/build, may not be soloed. Playing in group is more efficient and will give you a significant advantage.

Rewards

• Seeds of Hatred (allows you to gamble gear and buy a few cosmetics, can't be gotten anywhere else).
• Monsters also drop regular gear, including legendary. Density is pretty good.

5) Nightmare Dungeons

(Comparable to Path of Exile maps)

Now I saved the most challenging content for last, and what some will call the "true endgame". Nightmare Sigil is a consumable (which can be found or crafted by the occultist) which allows you to corrupt a dungeon with certain affixes.
Once the dungeon is corrupted, you have to make your way to it by foot or horse on the open-world (but you can be summoned by players already there). You have a limited amount of revives inside the dungeon.
Edit: It appears you're now able to teleport directly to a nightmare dungeon:

Small update to note with nightmare dungeons you should note. In the alpha test late last year when you got a sigil you could use it to teleport to the dungeon so you don’t have to ride or walk there. Otherwise this is a good guide. -Thatdude446

The level of the monsters will depend on the tier of the Nightmare Sigil, for example a Tier 66 Nightmare Sigil will give you level 120 monsters.
The implicit dungeon objectives don't change (yep, you still gotta find the key, activate the switch or bring the stone to open the door, etc), monster density is increased, and some affixes may affect the way you play, for example there is an affix which makes a lightning bolt periodically hit you (it can one shot you), while there is an artefact following you around and periodically casting a dome, you have to go under the dome to not get hit by the lightning bolt. There are probably a handful affixes such as the Lightning dome, which stand out.
Difficulty

• Most challenging pve content by far. Difficulty goes up to Tier 100 (while open world content is limited to Torment, aka Tier 4) and reaching this high will require a very good, if not meta build. The Nightmare dungeons are soloable, but playing in group is more efficient, especially since it effectively gives you more revive (you can be revived by players, it doesn't decrease your revive count, so always wait before self-reviving).

Rewards

• Glyphs (I don't remember if it's the only source of glyphs).
• Leveling up Glyphs (the only way to do so, at the end of a nightmare dungeon there is an altar to level up your glyphs).

Glyph is an item which gives a huge passive bonus, similar to Diablo 3 legendary gems, which is socketed into the Paragon board (each board has 1 slot, and we're looking at 3~5 Glyphs per build).

In March 2022, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health updated its definition of a COVID death:

Currently, the COVID death definition includes anyone who has COVID listed as a cause of death on their death certificate, and any individual who has had a COVID-19 diagnosis within 60 days but does not have COVID listed as a cause of death on their death certificate. The updated definition reduces this timeframe from 60 days to 30 days for individuals without a COVID diagnosis on their death certificate... Massachusetts has applied this new definition retroactively to the start of the pandemic in March 2020. As a result, 4,081 deaths in Massachusetts that were previously counted as associated with COVID will be removed. In addition, approximately 400 deaths not previously counted but identified through a manual process of matching death certificates with medical records will be added to the COVID-19 death count. The state’s overall COVID death count, therefore, will decline by 3,700.

Santa Clara County (Bay Area, CA) made a similar update in 2021:

The prior definition included anyone who had COVID-19 who died, while the updated definition focuses on the cause of the death and aligns better with the determinations made by the Medical Examiner-Coroner in cases of overlapping jurisdiction... The refined definition includes only deaths in which COVID-19 is listed as part of the cause of death on the death certificate, incorporating information provided by health experts including medical providers and the County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office... This shift reduces the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic by approximately 22 percent.

Same with Alameda County (also Bay Area, CA) around the same time:

In a press release, Neetu Balram with the Alameda County Health Department wrote, "Alameda County previously included any person who died while infected with the virus in the total COVID-19 deaths for the county." ... As an example, Balram explained "a resident who had COVID-19 but died due to another cause, like a car accident, this person would be included in the total number of reported COVID-19 deaths for Alameda County."

Here is the current definition on the Oregon Health Authority website:

In Oregon a death is reported as a COVID death if: The death is of a confirmed or probable COVID-19 case within 60 days of the earliest available date among exposure to a confirmed case, onset of symptoms, or date of specimen collection for the first positive test; or The death results from any cause in a hospitalized person during admission or in the 60 days following discharge AND a COVID-19-positive laboratory diagnostic test at any time since14 days prior to hospitalization; or The death is of someone with a COVID-19-specific ICD-10 code listed as a primary or contributing cause of death on a death certificate, regardless of the dates of diagnosis or death.

Who can forget this infamous press conference from the Illinois Director of Public Health?

Technically, even if you died from a clear alternate cause, but had COVID at the same time, your death is still listed as a COVID death.

Now, I want to take a moment to clarify that I am not accusing anyone of any sort of "conspiracy" to falsify death reports. I'm not accusing doctors and coroners of lying or covering anything up. If you read through these links carefully, you'll notice that they refer to people who specifically did not have COVID listed as a cause of death but were still included in the total count. This is just the way that the numbers are recorded, and I'd like to have a discussion about that.

i have a couple posts about how ive been depressed n shit but i guess i never really got the chance to talk about everything. and ig people like to know what they’re going into so im 20 from new york, usa. im 6’2 which is cool ig, i cant really describe my looks but ive been told i look like jon snow(game of thrones) or ruby(suicide boys) lol. im mixed mexican and irish and i guess thats for appearance lol. i watch a shit ton of anime, i listen to damn near everything, but im favoriting indie, edm and alot of suicide boys lol. i have anxiety and shit i dont know id thats a deal breaker but just gotta throw it out there. im bad at these kinda things so go easy on me lol. anyways yeah 😂🫶🏼

I'm currently at Santa Fe College pursuing an AA in Engineering and plan to transfer to UF to study Electrical Engineering. I have a few questions for those who've taken this same path or know someone who has.
A. What's a competitive GPA for my AA, to not worry about being rejected?
B. How would you order the majors from the Engineering Department at UF in terms of competitiveness to transfer into? Asking this because I'm still a little indecisive if I should study EE, CompE, or CompSci.
C. Does my GPA get reset after transfer into UF?
D. How long will it take me to complete an EE degree after I transfer over?
E. Does the EE major offer any focuses to help me get a job with a Defense Contractor? I'm interested in working on circuitry of aircraft/computers/electronic devices.
F. What's the job outlook like with an EE degree from UF? I really want to work for Lockheed Martin or Northrop Grumman.
G. Will I be a competitive applicant outside of Florida as much as in Florida?
H. Are there internships opportunities offered at UF for EE?

It’s clear that this campus cannot support 19k students. Everything from housing, to transportation, to getting classes you need, is stretched past the limits.
As much as I’d like to see the campus grow to meet the need, I don’t see it happening successfully. It’s some combination of geography, scarce natural resources, and rampant anti-growth NIMBYism in the surrounding community that makes expansion difficult to impossible. At this point, UC is suffering from sunk cost fallacy and needs to move on from Santa Cruz.
The LRDP wants to grow the campus 44% to 29k by 2040. I understand the UC system needs to add more seats to achieve its mission of providing space for the top 12.5% of graduating California high schoolers (which we are behind on). But I don’t think UCSC is the right place for that.
Enrollment should be reduced to around 16k as it was back in the early 2010s and shit wasn’t crumbling. Less admits and also offer transfers to other UC campuses for impacted majors, perhaps with a reduced tuition incentive. This could also make UCSC stronger academically and improve its reputation.
Then UC needs to rapidly expand Merced. It needs to be at like 20-30k, yesterday. On top of that, UC needs to start looking at opening a new campus in an area with low cost of living and ample room for expansion. Maybe Bakersfield?

Robert Edwin House, 261, President, CEO, and sole proprietor of the New Vegas Strip, industrialist and technologist, founder, President, and CEO of the multi-billion-dollar pre-war robotics and software corporation, RobCo Industries, has died.
Generally recognized by Mr. House to be mankind's only hope of long-term survival, Mr. House passing may well sound a death knell for the entire human race.
Lost forever is his bounty of knowledge concerning human longevity, the depth and breadth which could, as he was apt to say, "fill several text books." He was not exaggerating. Though he did not achieve his goal of functional immortality, let us not forget that he died at the age of 261. I mean, come on.
Also lost forever are House's singular personality, force of will, vision, and leadership ability. The probability of an equally capable figure emerging from the current human population to lead mankind to a future of equivalent quality is less than 0.000112% by objective measures too complex to detail in this obituary.
Personality and force of will: Born June 25th, 2020, House was orphaned at an early age when his parents died in a freak accident (auto gyro, lighting). Though cheated out of his inheritance, House attended the prestigious Institute in Massachusetts and founded RobCo Industries on his 22nd birthday. I apologize for the long text in advance.
I’m relatively new to MBTI and have taken multiple tests to try to figure out my type. My first ones on 16personalities I received INTJ, INTP, and ISTJ. When I took the Sakinorva test, I got the results below. I’m not sure how to interpret the Sakrinova results. I’m wondering if someone could type me - I’ll include general information about myself.
I’m not social at all around anyone but about two people. With these two people I still mostly listen to what they have to say instead of actually participating in the conversation. I can communicate when I need to, but I would prefer not to. When I do talk a lot, it’s usually about something that I believe in or find fascinating. I love watching debates, but when it comes to actually having one, I have trouble articulating my thoughts in a cohesive enough manner to guarantee winning.
I love being alone, but occasionally I do enjoy the company of one of the two people I mentioned above. I find it very hard to make new friends, and I have been told by multiple different people that I come off as very cold, distant, and intimidating. I am a pretty nice person, but when I communicate with people I’m not familiar with I can be pretty blunt and straight to the point to end the conversation faster. I am very good at sniffing out when people are lying to me almost immediately, and I despise liars and people who act fake. I don’t trust a lot of people and usually take things with a grain of salt.
I love reading, writing, rock and classical music, and learning new things. The issue is that I have issues being productive all the time - as in I start many of my own projects outside of school but am not able to finish a lot of them, whether it’s due to lack of time or lack of motivation.
I have a lot of deadlines for myself, and always strive to be the best I can be. I am constantly studying things that interest me, and even though others around me constantly let me know that I am intelligent, I never feel as though it’s enough.
I also have trouble understanding what I’m feeling at any given time. I usually either feel pretty much nothing, or I feel emotions in the extremes. Once every so often I’ll have a sort of small mental breakdown and go through all of the processing in about an hour’s time. I never allow myself to make decisions when I’m emotional, and I always take a long time to make an important decision to make sure I know what I want to do (although I always end up second-guessing myself). I value my head over my heart. I also only really allow myself to express my full range of feeling in my own company.
I’m not sure if this is helpful, but I’ll include it anyway - I have a hard time focusing in loud environments or when the lights are too bright around me.
