Hi guys! So I am planning on writing a Steven Universe human alternate universe and I need your help.
So there was a war many years ago, and everyone included in that war got called Gems.
But I have a hard time figuring out what exactly the war was about. I think it's more like territorial thing.
And this far I have decided that:
Garnet, Pearl, Jasper and Bismuth were in the army.
Lapis was in the air force but got shot down into the ocean and now has trauma.
And Peridot was an engineer.
I need to brainstoem so any ideas are helpful because I actually am not that educated in military stuff.

Hello, my name is Steven Butler and I am a doctoral candidate from Fresno State University that is conducting research into how students with a neurodivergent identity on the autism spectrum experience transitioning from high school to community college. This research would provide valuable insight to colleges wishing to increase inclusiveness and representation for neurodivergent students on their campus. I am also a father of a neurodivergent student that will be going to college within the next five years, and I want to create an inclusive and welcoming community on community college campuses. I will be conducting interviews that engage community college students about their experiences and stories. I here time and time again Steven Universe is a show about interpersonal relationships and healing with the Gem Empire a metaphor for your conservative family.
But why did they add the fact that planets are literally drained of life to grow more gems?
Or the forced Fusion experiments? Since Fusions are metaphors for relationships in general. It makes them the ultimate perversion of love.
How does the massive super weapon made from still aware Soldiers that was made with the premise to destroy earth help the theme of dealing with your conservative parents who misgender you?
The issue that Steven Universe is about interpersonal relationships is that it also adds all this distracting stuff about a space empire who is on parr with a Warhammer 40k faction in terms of vileness.
Because even in Warhammer 40k universe commanders would hesitant about sending a mass indiscriminate attack to wipe out your enemies while your own troops are there.
Making the themes of healing relationships muddled. Trying to reconnect to your neglectful parents is fine because the only person they harmed is you.
If your family is also mass space tyrants they need to fix far more then their relationship with their kids.
It reminds me if the God-Emperor of Mankind apologized to his kids and reconnects with them. While ignoring all the mass Xenocides and Slavery he did.
All of the space opera stuff distracts from the themes of interpersonal relationships by introducing a wider oppressive social structure

So I have this story I'm writing that includes the SU universe but this is WAYYYYY before any of the crystal gems. Basically, there were WAY more Diamonds than the 4 today. But one day, the white diamond decided to go rogue because she saw how 'imperfect' things were on Homeworld. She gathered two diamonds she thought were fit to fight alongside her, Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond. Blue had grown fond of a younger, smaller diamond, Pink. Blue convinced Yellow and White to allow Pink to fight with them. The four fought for years and eventually succeeded. Pink felt pity and she expressed this to White numerous times, she was ignored but White had grown to love her as well so she was never lashed out at. However, White Diamond allowed Pink to bubble all the Diamond gems instead of shattering them. White decided to bubble their pearls too. As her first order of business, White then wanted to plant gems on other worlds too, she wanted an army. After a clumsy amethyst guard popped a bubble and let out Green Diamond, White shattered all the diamonds without the knowledge of Pink. When the cluster was made, some of the diamonds were put inside. This is one of the reasons that the cluster was so strong. It was also one reason that the cluster listened to Steven, he had Pink's gem and Pink took pity on the diamonds instead of shattering them. Because the war between the diamonds happened so long ago and Pink/Rose was ashamed of it, even Pearl never found out; it was completely erased from gem history. At least, it was until Purple Diamond's pearl came out of hiding. She had been hiding for hundreds of thousands of years, worried she'd be found and shattered like her dear diamond was. Much like Pink and her pearl, they had a more playful relationship rather than a boss/employee one. She meets the crystal gems one day and explains to Pearl what happened. Pearl being both excited that she got to write down a missing part of history and Steven being upset because of all the innocent diamonds being shattered.
Ik this was rlly long but I rlly like this story lol, so thank u if u actually made it to the end <3.

so basically a few months ago i went to do some groceries and when i went to pay i was stunned by a beauty like i never saw before. she was a cashier so smily and cute and pretty every time i went there i would go to her but as a lesbian i wasnt able to talk to her... especially a transbian without much passing- so time passed and i wasn't able to go do groceries, but one day (like 2 weeks before) i went there and i saw her!! i texted my friend, terrified, i they pushed me to go talk to her. I was bableling and i felt that i was blushing so much but i gave her my instagram. the same evening she sent me a text and we began to talk, she invited me to drink something but i wasnt sure it was a date- she confirmed that night it was one! so we talked laugh and laugh, she hold my hand my heart was beating so hard- after a few hours the date ended. we continued talking on the phone and then i asked her on a date once again, in a little field with a beautifull view on the cities light, with some drink. i started to learn guitare recently so she brought her own for me to show her what i learn, then after showing she started playing and i already was mesmerised but when she started singing i was helpless i couldnt move, just looking at her. then she played the Steven Universe intro song i loved it x) then we were admiring each other right in the eyes, and she kissed me!!! i was so happy i thought my little helpless lesbian's Heart was going to explode. we spent the night kissing and laughing and singing it was amazing, i think we're a couple now? she's not the kind of person to say "do you want to be my girlfriend?" it's more like well it happened and we're together now, i'm a little scared because it was kinda fast and my last 2 (and only) relationship hurt me a lot but i feel like my real self with her and i dont even have butterflies (wich is a sign of stress and anxiety) well i could continue talking about her but anyway, keep hope people, you'll find someone!
ps: i'm french sorry if there is a lot of mistakes ps 2: for my french lesbian we were sining some "pomme" and for my non-french it's the equivalent of Girl in Red for french people
