My grandparents are set to get a settlement payout from a car accident they were in with an unlicensed and uninsured driver. The lawyer gave them all the paper work stating the amount each will be getting after going to court. This was in November of 2022 and the lawyer said they would have the money before Christmas of 22. First post so here goes. Possibly a stupid question but I began a relationship with an AD in December of 2021 and am curious of two things. For clarity I bought my wife a tennis bracelet for Christmas 2021 and when checking out explained I wanted to give him a list of rolexes to keep an eye out for me.
  1. How exactly do they allocate watches? I gave him my list and the first one he got me was a Yacht-master 40 126622 in June 2022. Next one was the Root Beer 126715 in December 2022 which was always my desired piece but was told it would take a while. He just allocated me the white gold blue submariner 126619LB yesterday. There must be people spending more with him so I'm curious how I've been allocated 2 of the more expensive watches back to back.
  2. To piggyback off my question above, am I just getting lucky? I put a ton of other, more affordable watches on my list and of course he hits me back to back with two $40k pieces.

However, the USDA reported that the hatch from July 2022 through November 2022 increased 5.8% as compared with the prior-year period. While no farm is immune from HPAI, we believe we have implemented and continue to maintain robust biosecurity programs across our locations. We are also working closely with federal, state and local government officials and focused industry groups to mitigate the risk of this and future outbreaks and effectively manage our response, if needed.”

Now let’s look at the numbers. $CALM reports Q3 earnings on March 28th after-hours. It covers the period from December 2022 – February 2023. Their current market cap is around $2.4 billion with a P/E ratio of 5.6. This is a hell of a value play, even without the massive upside.

Now, two assumptions I will be making, but they will both be on the pessimistic side: 1) they will be selling about the same amount of eggs as last quarter. Not a crazy assumption because Thanksgiving (pies) and Christmas (cookies) are two of their biggest months. In fact, last year their Q3 beat their Q2. 2) Cost of sales will be a straight % of revenue. I really don’t think that is likely to happen. It is more likely to stay flat, not like their costs go up a ton just because competitors are having bird flu issues. These are my rough estimates for their earnings:

It should be noted that even the current analyst forecasts would easily be $CALM’s best quarter ever. And I think they are going to shatter them.
The play: stock and options. I’m doing both. Sit on it for another 4 weeks post earnings and hit ex-div date. They are required by by-laws to pay out at least 1/3 of profit every quarter in dividends. This resulted in a $0.77 dividend last quarter for an annualized rate of 5.65%. Not bad in these current times. If my earnings estimate were to be close to accurate that would push the dividend to $1.53 and the annualized rate to over 11%. Even the analyst forecasts would push it over 7%. All this to say, I think CALM is going to pop as soon as earnings come out.
Is it a long-term hold? I don’t think so. But I do think people/institutions are going to pile into a stock that is crushing it while the rest of the market shits the bed. The long-term success will be determined by future Avian Flu outbreaks but I think institutions will at least hold their positions until they get a clearer position on what that looks like over the summer. Institutions hold 91.7% of the outstanding stock. Short percent of float is 14.4%

Our break-up was needed. In late September last year, the foundations of our relationship fell apart. It was a combination of a power imbalance, blatant misogyny, emotional immaturity, dedication to faith, and family background. We needed to break up and he broke up with me in a seemingly practical way. (After rushing me out of a visit to see my friend with Stage IV brain cancer) After some time, I realize he was a coward, but I forgive him. I immediately stated we needed to be no contact. To nix any idea of reopening our romantic relationship later, I got my belongings from his house two days after the break-up. Why open up old wounds once they healed over, right?
Our final day seeing each other was long, and he showed his true colors tenfold. We spoke about every detail of how the break-up went and I let him go... or so I thought. He texted me a Bible verse the next day after I requested to keep no contact and I blocked him. I started working out and on a random walk I thought I saw him at a local pier making out with some girl about a month into our no contact. I didn't react in the moment, but it hurt. I made it the passed the 90 day mark. I felt it would do no harm and not bring up feelings to say happy birthday. He always hated his birthday and made it seem small, but I used to tell him how important it was. I thought enough time had passed and if he was in a new relationship it wouldn't matter. So, I called. He had mentioned he had wanted to be friends during the break-up, and we spoke like really old friends that loved each other very much.
Our conversation made me realize I never wanted to return to him and I realized our break-up was never a wound, but a lesson. I decided to block him again after he messaged Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It was a hard decision, but I felt maybe I should leave him in 2022.
Unfortunately, now I miss our friendship more than ever. I've been missing our conversations about faith and laughing together about ridiculous things. Almost a full six months later. We would have never been a great couple together and I am so happy we aren't together in that capacity, but I've been holding back on creating a friendship after our last long conversation. He hasn't reached out because I blocked all avenues. I found out he moved, through the grapevine, and it hurt more than seeing the make-out three months ago. I used to know he was okay because he would use my store card number for groceries. It brought me peace for all this time. Now, there are no ties at all, not even a little nibble. He has no social media, and neither do I (besides on reddit).

Ukraine’s Digital Resistance Behind Enemy Lines

The man introduced to me in the southern port city of Odesa as Taras does not look like what he is: the founder of the civilian resistance to Russia’s military occupation of southern and eastern Ukraine. He’s no tough Marshal Tito or ethereal Mahatma Gandhi. He looks, in fact, like your typical Gen Z tech worker: early 20s, lean, trendy—and he’s always online. He likes to talk about English Premier League football games from the 1980s, but only because he’s seen them on YouTube; he can name scores of Premier League players, but only because he’s used their avatars in the FIFA video game. He adores Instagram.
Since April, Taras has led a group named Yellow Ribbon, which took up the principles of nonviolent resistance soon after the Russians overran his home city of Kherson. (Taras is a pseudonym he uses to help protect his identity from his Russian enemies.) Its goal: to resist Russian occupation through peaceful means wherever possible. The group has now spread throughout the occupied territories of Ukraine, and as it has done so, its reputation has grown. Late last year, Yellow Ribbon was one of four Ukrainian groups honored with the European Parliament’s Andrei Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, the European Union’s main award for the defense of human rights.

What distinguishes Yellow Ribbon from traditional nonviolent resistance movements is its emphasis on the digital. The group’s growing numbers of activists stay connected via a chatbot plugin on the group’s Telegram messaging app. Prompted by the chatbot’s automated questions, activists in the occupied territories can access various resistance tasks to carry out on the ground. The system enables Yellow Ribbon to share the materials and techniques necessary for the resistance to make its activities visible in the real world of the occupation, while safeguarding the anonymity of the participants against Russian efforts to penetrate the network. Among the clandestine actions guided by the chatbot are scrawling pro-Ukraine graffiti, tying yellow ribbons around objects in the streets, and projecting slogans onto buildings taken over by the Russian administration. Such nonviolent actions have made Yellow Ribbon famous across Ukraine—and a serious problem for Russia in the occupied areas.
At first, the Russians ignored the group to avoid amplifying its work. Eventually, as Yellow Ribbon’s activities grew, they were forced to respond. Yellow and blue paint began to disappear from shops in occupied areas. Buying anything yellow became almost impossible; people were reduced to cutting patches of the color out of old clothes.
Even Russian soldiers began to feel the effects of Yellow Ribbon’s activities. Taras told me that after graffiti appeared near the entrance of a Chechen base in Melitopol, another occupied city in southeastern Ukraine, the soldiers changed their location and started going about town in civilian clothing rather than military uniform.
Access to the Telegram chatbot has allowed resistance activists to spring up across the occupied territories; many of them were women, who, I was told, could more easily pass unnoticed by the Russian occupiers. Earlier this year, I met Liliyia Aleksandrova in Kherson, which was recaptured by Ukrainian forces late last year—though artillery shelling still roared in the background as we spoke. Prior to the occupation, Aleksandrova had, she said, been a middle-aged “mama.” When the Russians first came to Kherson, she attended some street demonstrations, but the tear gas and soldiers soon put a stop to things. “It was clear we couldn’t protest publicly anymore,” she told me. “I was thinking about what I could do for my country; I had to do something to be useful.”
On Telegram, she came across Yellow Ribbon and, using the group’s chatbot tool, she began downloading instructions for tasks. She put up yellow ribbons everywhere she could—on buildings, lampposts, and fences—and took photos. Once or twice, she was almost caught, but she continued. Her work was everywhere around the city. As we talked, we passed Yellow Ribbon graffiti on a street wall. “I did that,” Liliyia told me with quiet satisfaction.
The first time Taras saw the Russians after the February 24 invasion, they had taken an office in the city’s main square; then they took the main police station. By March 2, they were in full control of Kherson. “No one knew what would happen tomorrow or the day after,” he told me when we met earlier this year in Odesa. He’d spent most of last year living under occupation in Kherson before its liberation in November.
Ukrainian partisans have launched sporadic attacks in Russian-occupied areas, but Taras had no military training, so any resistance activity he took on had to be nonviolent. He drew inspiration from earlier causes such as Germany’s White Rose student group, which opposed the Nazis; the U.S. civil-rights movement; and Czechoslovakia’s 1989 protests that led to the Velvet Revolution. Gandhi called nonviolent resistance “mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man.”

According to Erica Chenoweth and Maria J. Stephan, both political scientists and co-authors of the 2011 book Why Civil Resistance Works, taking up arms has traditionally given regime opponents a 26 percent chance of succeeding in their aims, whereas the tactics of nonviolent resistance have a 53 percent success rate. Countries where nonviolent, rather than violent, resistance led to change were more likely to remain democratic after the crisis ended.
Taras knew many people who wanted to act but for whom armed resistance was not an option. He could, he calculated, attract many more recruits through nonviolence. Almost anyone can participate: Its methods are highly accessible, and no specialist equipment or skills are required. He grasped that nonviolence’s main advantage over violence is scale—the number of people it can rally to a cause is exponentially greater.
Taras knew he could count on the 10 employees of the IT company he ran in Kherson, plus some people in other companies he worked with. This was enough to form the basis of what would become Yellow Ribbon. Even today, the core group of coordinators remains small—about 40 people, all of them known personally to Taras from before the occupation. Most are in their 20s.
At first, the Russians allowed residents of Kherson to protest in person, and many did, going to the central square, waving Ukrainian flags, and demanding the troops leave. Pooling cash, Taras’s group decided to buy online advertisements to spread the message. It gravitated easily from organizing IT projects to rallying support for the local protests and other pro-Ukraine activities through March and into April.
Then, in late April, a rumor spread through the city that Russia was making preparations for fraudulent referendums in occupied cities across the south. The result would be a foregone conclusion; the territories would be annexed to Russia. The resistance activists knew they had to act.
On April 23, they set up a Telegram group that they named Yellow Ribbon, a reference to the color on the Ukrainian flag, to spread pro-Ukraine messages and encourage people to paste leaflets and posters around Kherson. The platform would also work with local media to promulgate similar messages. Taras realized they could now reach hundreds of thousands of people.
Eliot A. Cohen: The shortest path to peace
“That’s what you can do with a digital component: reach larger audiences, spread more messages, get people to go out and protest, and do so successfully,” he told me. “We saw it work; things started to build like a snowball.”
The first demonstration, which took place on April 27, was modest in size—maybe 500 people. The Russians were out in force and used tear gas and stun grenades against the protesters. The physical demonstration may have been small, and was quickly put down, but online, via the Telegram channel and on social networks, it went viral. Moscow did eventually hold the referendum, but not until the end of September.
Another protest was planned for May 9, by which time things were getting more dangerous. Within five minutes, the protest was broken up by Russian forces. After the FSB, Russia’s state security police, came to town, the first local collaborators emerged, and activists started to disappear. Taras and his team made the decision to shift their strategy away from street demonstrations. If the resistance could not occupy the streets, it would occupy the online space.
In June, the group used Instagram to create a virtual street protest that included images of flags and banners on a visualization of a street in Kherson. Every person who attended had to write “Kherson is Ukraine” in the comments section. From these posts, the group calculated that 40,000 people had joined from Kherson and 16,000 from Mariupol. The Yellow Ribbon message spread across not only pro-Ukraine but pro-Russia platforms as well.
As Yellow Ribbon’s name and activities grew, new problems arose. Its activists were in constant danger of arrest. The group put several security protocols in place. Unlike specialized messaging platforms such as Signal, Telegram was already in widespread use by Ukrainians and Russians alike, rendering the app’s presence on a phone unsuspicious. Telegram can also be deleted from a phone, removing all the messages, and then downloaded again—with all of the messages still intact.
Gil Barndollar: Ukraine has the battlefield edge
Getting people out of jail became a priority for the group. That generally meant one thing: bribes. Usually, it was easy to pay Russian soldiers or local collaborators to release an activist who’d disappeared. Taras knew businessmen in the city who had dealings with the Russians, and he used them as intermediaries. He’d pay them, and they’d pay the Russians.
Then, in late September, the group set up the chatbot. The technology enabled Yellow Ribbon to radically scale up its activities, allowing it to evolve from being a local resistance movement into something more powerful: a franchised one. People like Aleksandrova began to open cabinets across the occupied territories—in Melitopol and Donetsk and Luhansk, even in Crimea.
Over coffee in Odesa, Taras showed me the chatbot homepage on his laptop. In Crimea, chatbot volunteers tied a yellow ribbon on a tree near a shipping port. In September, leaflets announcing Crimea is Ukraine! and Opening soon! were pasted on a government building there. Ukrainian-flag graffiti appeared in Donetsk, and in Melitopol posters mocked the Russian passports that locals were being pressured to get.
The group also taught people how to make stencils in the shape of the “3CY” initialism for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and, using torches, project them onto official buildings. In late January, one appeared on the Russian administration’s office in Melitopol.
David Frum: Zelensky recalled us to ourselves
Most of the time, the group judged, Russian soldiers hadn’t themselves seen the resistance graffiti or leaflets in the city, but a monitoring team would report the photo of it that subsequently appeared online. Back in May, the Russian TV channel Izvestia paraded some purported Yellow Ribbon activists from Mariupol, who claimed that they had been paid to put up leaflets (as an alternative to other hourly paid work, which encouraged Russian viewers to infer that they were prostitutes).
The Yellow Ribbon team started noticing people whom it suspected were FSB personnel using the Chatbot app to pose as activists and request to meet in person—a clear violation of security rules. The team’s members, Taras told me, also received phishing links almost daily. In this sense, the digital amplification has increased the reach and impact of the ground activity, forcing the occupier to respond to it.
Eventually, the group’s presence attracted attention in Moscow. Yellow Ribbon’s work prompted a “concerned citizen” in Crimea to message the local Russian Investigative Committee’s Telegram channel: “I request you begin investigating the terrorist activities and spreading of ideology by the Yellow Ribbon group.” On January 27, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow issued a letter saying that the activity was being investigated, and two days later, a subdivision of the ministry confirmed that it was now regarded as a criminal matter.
A Russian organization calling itself the Committee for the Defense Against Traitors released a video claiming that the group was engaged “in the information war” to push the agenda of “terrorists.” These sorts of attacks are only to be expected: The group’s activities are not just a constant reminder that the locals reject the occupation but also a living rebuttal of Russia’s entire narrative justifying its invasion.
Recently, I spoke with Ivan, a colleague of Taras’s who helped set up Yellow Ribbon back in April last year. (Again, I am using a pseudonym to protect his identity.) Another Kherson native, he is Yellow Ribbon’s main coordinator. When the Russians withdrew from the city, he went to nearby Melitopol, which remains under Moscow’s control. Ivan stayed behind enemy lines, he explained, because the group needs to ensure that the movement keeps growing, especially in that city and other still-occupied areas. It’s hard to find the right materials and places to print, and they need to keep their network of activists in play across the region.
“Things in Melitopol are tough,” he told me over an encrypted voice call. “The Russians have instituted an ‘anti-terrorist’ regime on the streets, which means increased patrols and video cameras everywhere. A lot of soldiers have arrived from Russia—and they are making a lot of arrests. It’s hard for us to work here now.
“The Russians can be brutal,” he went on. “But it depends on what unit they’re from—the Chechens are really bad. They think that this is their territory.”
Tom Nichols: Putin’s desperate hours
Ivan and his fellow activists keep a low profile, especially when they go out to buy necessities. Security is paramount. “I try not to be too active on the streets but instead focus on how to bring in the materials into the city and where to hide them,” he told me. “I work with VPNs and hosts and proxies to make sure my internet connection is safe. I have five cellphones and move from safe house to safe house each night or week.”
Taras left Kherson last August, before the city was liberated. He traveled by car, carrying just one sports bag and about 170,000 roubles (approximately $2,300), which he gave to the soldiers manning a checkpoint out of the city. When he handed over the cash, he felt like telling them they were welcome to it because he’d never be needing roubles again, but he refrained, and instead drove through the barrier in silence, back into free Ukraine.
Since then, he has continued to coordinate Yellow Ribbon’s activities from inside Ukraine. The group plans to expand its activities. The chatbot now serves about 4,600 open cabinets, but the group hopes to get that number to 100,000. This has helped change the nature of nonviolent resistance movements, which in the past tended to center on a single, charismatic figure, such as Martin Luther King Jr. or Gandhi. Instead, Yellow Ribbon, with its army of activists across occupied Ukraine, creates impact through a shared disgust at what Russia is doing, unifying opposition to the occupation. Its great strength lies in its digitally diffuse activism—which makes stopping it much harder for the Russians.
“I hope that liberation will come in the next three months,” Ivan said at the end of our conversation. “When it does, we will take our Ukrainian flags to the main square and celebrate with our military, as we did in Kherson.”

Hi Everyone,
To continue from my post yesterday.
Here's my story. Like all of us I had a difficult childhood, raised by two narcissists (dad overt, mom covert). I'll spare you the details because for the purpose of my response, these are irrelevant. Besides how can we not see ourselves as victims when dwelling on past hurts? I have other med/psych issues and I won't go into those either for fear that I'll reinforce my victim image.
This diagnosis of NPD was given to me after I was hospitalized in psych ward this past Jan (seems like years ago) because of what I think was a narcissistic collapse. Like many of us with NPD, I like looking at porn--it's part of my narcissistic supply. I can look at it when I want (at least discretely) and choose what to view. Nothing hardcore, mind you, but porn is porn is porn. Well, my wife has always been staunchly anti-porn because of the degrading and demeaning way it presents women (I don't disagree). My usage of porn goes back to my teens (before the internet) when all we had were magazines. Never really grew out of it to be honest. But when my new wife tells me she's opposed to porn it probably would have been a good idea to listen (of course I didn't).
Over the early years of our marriage, while I was still in training, I became reckless, looking at this stuff in public places, seemingly daring the Gods to challenge me, not thinking of the serious consequences should I have been caught, e.g., losing my med license (there goes all my hard work getting through college, med school, and residency). We had young children at the time and my wife was a FT mother. What would have I told her should I have been caught and was fired? I surely would have been reported to my state medical society and department of health. An investigation would be underway. The verdict would be published on the public pages of the health website for all to see that my license was suspended/revoked and the reasons listed. So no completing my training, no job in sight because all I knew was medicine. What what I do? How would I support my family? How would I deal with the humiliation? Well as a undiagnosed NPD, I obviously didn't care -- consequences be damned.
My wife has always been an incredibly thoughtful person. To wit:
-She bought me a beautiful framed picture of Sylvester the Cat with his son for my first Father's Day gift. I ignored it.
-She bought me thoughtful gifts for the things and hobbies I really enjoyed. I ignored them and never said thank you.
-She was my practice manager and I never took what she said seriously. Although she has a MPH and could run circles around me with financial-related matters, I saw her as inferior. She couldn't possibly know more about the business end of running a practice (when in fact I don't even know how to balance a checkbook).
-And on and on.
So what was my crisis moment? I continued to look at porn over the years even after I told my wife I wasn't. Then, in early December, 2022 she came across several images of nude women in various positions on our shared Google account. Never mind that she looks at the Photos daily but she also shares images with our children, family, and friends. Imagine the horror, embarrassment should others have seen these images. She texted me that she saw these images and simple wrote "oops." I immediately went into crisis mode. I pulled out all of my usual victimization defenses but none worked. She didn't sleep in our bed that evening for the first time in our marriage. I felt her disgust. But I told her I only recently started looking at it (a lie of course) and I really believed myself and thought she would to. But she didn't. She became cold, distant. My warm caring wife wasn't giving me my supply. I became suicidal, threatening to shoot myself (I have guns). I told her to hide them. I saw a new therapist and told him I was actively suicidal, and that's how I got hospitalized (there for a week).
I thought my issues with my wife were all about sex. She's middle-aged (as am I) but still extremely attractive. She simply wasn't into sex and hasn't been for years, and I always assumed it was because she was postmenopausal. After all, other older women still engage in sex and enjoy it. Well that was my first breakthrough moment: what if it isn't about sex, but about my attitudes and treatment of her? Could that be the cause (yes, it could be). I asked her, and she gave me this incredible look like, uh, yes, and you're only figuring this out now? Well, silly me, yes. My second breakthrough moment is when I (finally) acknowledged that I felt entitled.
Now my wife likes to watch Dr. Phil. He has a very common phrase he asks of his guests: "What were you thinking that made it OK to do the things you did?" My wife asked me, and I simply could not answer the question. But after much soul-searching, I came to realize she was an appendage to me, nothing more, nothing less.
My epiphany: It was like the Grinch at the end of the cartoon hearing the Whos celebrate Christmas without the toys, when he came to his revelation. And so I came to mine when my wife said she was seriously thinking of divorce (and still is).
How did I find out about the diagnosis? Did a psychiatrist tell me? Nope. It was on the discharge paperwork. Imagine a serious diagnosis like NPD and none of the mental healthcare providers told me it. And I'm a physician. So my wife and I began to read up on NPD. Initially I looked at sites where people with NPD shared their thoughts about their condition after they were diagnosed (I needed the confirmation, the affirmation). My wife looked at sites discussing the victims of NPD. She read about trauma bonding, about narcissistic abuse. I saw her revulsion, her anger, frustration, etc. How could she have not seen this earlier? Because I am the ultimate covert narcissist. I put the frog in the pot, filled it with water, and turned up the temp one degree at a time. The poor thing had no idea it was being boiled alive, and so it is with NPD victims.
I had a choice. There was (and still is) a very distinct possibility of divorce. So I kept coming back to Dr. Phil's quote and it finally (FINALLY!!) hit me - she was an appendage, nothing more and nothing less. She was my maid, my accountant, my manager, my lover, but never my equal, never my friend, never my partner. It was a stunning moment. My epiphany. My revelation.
What to do with my new insights? Well, from what I've read looking at Reddit and Quorum, people with NPD who gain awareness of their condition do one of three things: (1) they embrace it, wanting to change for the better (very small percentage), (2) 40% want to go back into their little hideaway spot because it's too painful to come to terms, and (3) 50% know their narcissists but they don't care and have no interest in changing (the usual course of action).
I decided I wanted to try (1). That's when I started to read about how someone with NPD affects (adversely) his loved ones. That's when I realized (slowly) how much I abused my wife, how I ignored her, how I rolled my eyes when she said something that obviously was beneath me to answer. And on and on. Memory after memory came to light, I was flooded with nothing but negatives. How could I have done this? Could I be this uncaring? So, this is when I decided I would no longer hide behind my carefully constructed walls. I let go of my defenses. I deliberately made myself vulnerable. I was scared to hell but I needed to see reality for what it was. I decided I would no longer use my usual victimization strategies. I came up with several simple rules (nothing complicated) how to listen to my wife, and the other things I put into my original post.
Now did I make these changes for my wife? Absolutely. It took several ill-placed pics on Google to start the ball rolling (by the way I still look at the porn but less so and have been honest with my wife but my attitudes are slowly slowly changing).
Someone with NPD cannot look within to make much-needed changes without first having a crisis, collapse, injury, or whatever. I took this opportunity to learn from it, to become a better person.
May be it's too late to save my marriage but should it come to divorce I know moving forwards that should I meet another woman, hopefully I will never go back to my old ways of thinking.
So, to answer Dr. Phil's question: There is absolutely nothing that justifies my behavior or actions. Guilty as charged. My wife now is no longer my narcissistic supply. She is my equal, my partner. And I need to get to know her better. Do you know that after 30 years of marriage, I still don't know her favorite color or her favorite ice cream flavor. I have much to learn and much ground to make up. I pray it's not too late. I'm going to give it my all, to be a better husband, a better friend, a better person. This past December of 2022, I dm’d this girl in Instagram and got her number. Little did I know that when I DM’d her and her ex had just broken up. Looking back in It now, i was probably one of the first people to show her attention after the breakup. Anyways, We both were in Christmas break until mid January of 2023, and we texted a good majority of the break. We then started hanging out in January. Went on 2 dates and then hooked up. We then went in another date and hooked up. We talk/text daily and she seems super into me. Our relationship has now progressed to us hanging out more and talking w one another as opposed to straight having sex. Starting to really like this girl but concerned I am a rebound. I don’t want to be a place holder until she is ready to move on from her ex and find someone else.
It has now been 3 months and we have seen each other about an average of 1-2 times per week since January. She said she hasn’t hooked up w anybody else and seems Very much into me.

2023.03.22 13:38 UltimateTraders 3/22/2023 Daily Plays Market has priced in no hike or last hike, I disagree so I will remain on the sidelines until we hear, NKE WGO very good reports, GME better, headed right direction, I was surprised but not ZIM destroyed and is paying dividends, I hope 30 for puts! Bank memes!

Judgement day today. Before the banks’ crisis I was pretty sure this meeting would see a .5 hike. I feel they should have given us a .5 last meeting but here we are. Some are expecting even a rate cut today LOL! I would say it is split between no hike and .25. But I would say everyone, but me, expects this to be the last hike… I would say the majority are now expecting the Fed to cut rates .25 at the next meeting in 6 weeks! I have seen people expecting a .75 cut by years end. I am not in any of those camps! Due to the bank crisis, I expect 2 more .25 hikes… And possibly, possibly 1 or 2 cuts towards the 4th quarter. [After October.] There is a serious fight against inflation, but now we see first hand what rate hikes can do to our banks, causing widespread panic, and a run on the banks.
These bankers, many, did not have their position in 2008, and certainly weren’t around for 2000. We learn thru experience, so they did not hedge, did not plan for a market in which the Fed would tighten, the Fed would increase rates rapidly. They deserve what they get! When Covid hit, the Govt did something unconstitutional. They told land owners, what they can, or cant do, they made us house people for free. I understand, there was a pandemic, but no one came to my aid. If you accepted rent relief, [Which took 3-4 months to get funded, I did apply for 1 person] You could not evict that tenant for 6-12 months, and while processing you most certainly were a slave to that tenant and the Govt. If the tenant did not want to fill out their portion, you were not getting paid, if they did not know how, you were not getting paid.. So you had to beg someone, whom screwed you for 6-18 months to fill out a lot of documents, send proof and wait months later to be funded. So, I only did it for 1 single mother who owed me for about 8 months.
So no one stepped in for me. I was losing 15-20K per month on my properties, this was without my major renovations which I still did some.. I waived goodbye to between 300-400K that I will never get back in lost rent. All told, lost rent, paying for mortgages, utilities without those rents, I easily lost near 600K. I am lucky I did very well in the market in 2020/21.
So I don’t believe we will get the hikes that we should, it is crushing many companies, but the low income will suffer for these transgressions of people who have made bad decisions. That said, I believe 2 more hikes, which will put us near 5.1-5.2% with the bank lending, tightening, may put us at a 3 handle on CPI sometime by years end. If CPI drops quickly, if and then, that is when I see the Fed cutting rates, and not before. It is to early to predict the affects of these hikes on earnings and the economy, we can only say it is going to be bad! How bad? No one knows, if I don’t know for sure, I am telling you, no one does. I do see the combination of banks and 5%+ rate bringing us near the 3 handle and that is when the Fed will cut. I do not see the Fed backing off the hikes before, regardless of what banks fail, regardless of flat GDP, unless we see unemployment above 5% and at the moment it is near 3.5-3.6%.
That said, when the market realizes, if they do, that this may not be the last hike, and a pivot wont happen until the end of the year [When the Fed knows we will get a 3 handle on CPI] the market should… I say they should, but there has been a disconnect between the market, and the data.. come down. And as I said before, regardless of where the SP500 is, current fair value is 3,300-3,400 based on earnings at the moment! I say the moment because the trend is going down, not up, not even flat! The numbers are still getting worse! This time next month, we will start seeing 1st quarter earnings. [Reported 3rd Week of April] And you will see the quality of earnings, because of company color on earnings and forecasts I see the numbers going lower.
If we are lucky, and its lucky, by 2nd quarter earnings [July] the hikes will stop, and earnings will go from down trending to flat, which is at least better than where we are.

We measure sales, and earnings [bottom line] year over year. It is very good if you beat analysts consensus on top and bottom, but if you have less sales or less earnings than the previous year that is not a good sign. ZIM earnings are expected to be down near 75% in 2023 compared to 2022, so the stock price is down more than 75%. Sales are expected to be down 50% but the stock reflects that already. Also, ZIM has a PE ratio of near 2.5 and that is with the company earning 10 dollars a share. The company smashed 4th quarter earnings by well over 1 dollar, sales by 100 million, and the forecast of 1.8-2.2 billion profit far exceeds analyst estimates of the company earning near 50-60 million for the year. [Current consensus is 42 cents. 120 million shares] GME is headed the right direction, for now, at least. I am impressed that they did make 48 million as opposed to losing 50-100 million. It is definitely a huge improvement, first profitable quarter in 2 years. But if you take a look at the 10Q, they had a decline in sales 2%. I expected near flat, and they did this by a cost savings on expenses near 90 million. This is very good, but keep in mind, this is temporary. You can only make money for so long with declining sales. It gives them some breathing room. GME still lost 313 million for 2022 even with the surprise 48 million profit. I am impressed, but the quality of earnings is in question for sure. Check the video above, however it is a step in the right direction. It was also the 4th quarter, Christmas, holiday quarter. If they do this 2 quarters in a row, then I will clap.
Either way, the company is not worth anywhere near 8 billion, which is where it will be at around open. ZIM is valued under 3 billion! Plenty of companies that make profits and pay dividends are worth far less than GME. But as we know, this is an auction, supply and demand, it is a popular vote. WGO beat top and bottom line by a wide margin, the market cap is 1.8 billion and has a 2% dividend yield, just mentioning it so you can compare different companies. NKE had a huge earnings beat and sales beat. NKE is down on inventory glut, I would not long or short NKE, I really liked it in the 80s but here we are. I wouldn’t short or long GME, but maybe if 30! If 19 yesterday I would have made a small bet on puts, maybe 500 bucks, but it peaked around 18.40. You can never judge a reaction to earnings when you have so much retail.. Otherwise ZIM would be 30+. I did like WGO in 2021, but the field is out of favor for now.
I will wait for the Fed decision, I had an order to sell ACI at 19.60 and high was 19.52 yesterday. If the Fed does hike .25 and talks about it being the last hike, I may sit on the sidelines for a while. If the Fed doesn’t hike at all, same thing… if the Fed talks tough and there will be more hikes and no cuts till end of the year [As should] I may buy puts on high fliers

BIDU – If the Fed gets tough it may be time to get puts on the Chinese Google, I have been watching but havent pulled the trigger
IRTC – A huge high flier that burns cash, same thing as BIDU if the Fed speaks tough

Hey guys, this isn’t your typical “lets not meet” kinda story, but it was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever gone through. I have changed the names in this story for my own safety. Again, I would love to provide articles and such but I’m too scared for my own safety to do so. I know this story is a long one, but I feel like you need all the details for the full effect.
For some background information, at the time of this story I was an 18 year old girl, right out of high school. I was a very naive person and always wanted to believe that everyone had no ill intentions and only kindness in their hearts. I had just gotten out of a long term relationship, so being the freshly 18 year old I was, I downloaded Tinder to explore my options. After some browsing and swiping, I got bored. I closed out of the app, never deleting it, but not really using it actively.
One night as I was getting off work one night, I got onto my phone to mindlessly browse Tinder. I was bored and figured “why not?” Instead, I saw that I had a message on Facebook. After thinking “Who even uses Facebook Messenger?” for a second, I opened it thinking maybe a family member was trying to contact me. I was greeted by a message from a man named Alex, stating “Hello! I’m sorry if this is strange but I saw you on Tinder a while ago and we didn’t match. I knew you looked familiar, and we have a bunch of mutual friends here so you came up in my recommended friends! I just wanted to say that you are absolutely beautiful!” While the compliment was nice, I hadn’t matched with him because he simply wasn’t my type. I accepted the compliment and thanked him for reaching out, which he took as a conversation initiation. Being the naive girl I was, I answered some questions from him. I found out he was 23, which was WAY out of my age range. I told him he was too old for me anyways, as I was freshly 18. I went to sleep, and didn’t hear from him for a little while.
A few weeks went by, and I was closing up at work at about 10 pm on a summer night. My phone buzzed as I was mopping, and looking for any excuse for a break I checked it. It was another Facebook message from Alex, asking if I had a job for the summer. I responded with a simple “yes? Lol why?”. I went back to mopping until I felt another buzz in my pocket, and checked the message whenever my jaw hit the floor. “You work at “my job’s name” right? I was at the counter like 5 minutes ago. I’m still in the parking lot if you wanna get some food after your shift.” Now, I worked at a very one of a kind place, so there was no mistake that it was me he saw. I showed my coworker, who was also my best friend, and we just laughed at it like “What a weirdo!” Whenever we walked out to our cars together, there was still a car in the customer parking with its lights off. This freaked me out a little, only because we had closed 20 minutes ago. All I wanted after my 7 hour shift was to go home, and was honestly just more annoyed by this than anything. Even if I was naive, I listen to way too many Reddit stories to not be aware. So I sat in my car waiting for him to leave before I pulled out.Call me paranoid, but I was NOT giving this man the chance to follow me home. He left after about 15 minutes, and I just went about my life as usual, driving home and getting my rest. I noticed this same car in the parking lot a few more times, but then again, I did work at one of the most popular summer destinations in my town.
In about October, I received another message from Alex, with a picture of my Graduation party invitation and text that said “Do you know a person by the name of Jill?” And I did, it was my grandmother. He explained that he was installing the dishwasher in her house and saw my picture, striking up a conversation with my grandmother about it. Now this really weirded me out. My grandma lived 2 seconds away from me, and knowing my grandma, she would have chatted him up and probably mentioned that. Later on, she told me that he said we were really close friends and he knew me very well. At this point, I had barely even spoken to him. He then proceeded to ask me to go to a party with him that night, but I was out of the state with some friends for the weekend. After explaining that, he again asked me for a chance at a date. I thanked him, the flattery was sweet but explained he was a little too old for me and he wasn’t my type anyways. I laughed off the situation with my friends, but something about it just gave me this awful gut feeling.
The next encounter I had with him was by FAR the strangest. Our town does a little Christmas Light-up Night every year, and with my sister being in the marching band that marched in the parade, I went with a group of friends to support her. While standing in line for some hot chocolate, I got a notification on snapchat from Alex. This alone freaked me out, because I had never given him my snapchat and my username isn’t something you could guess without knowing me well. I did have it set so anyone could snapchat me (again, I was a dumb college freshman). I very hesitantly opened it, only to see it was a picture of the back of my high school band jacket, which I was currently wearing, with the caption “well hey there”. This creep, rather than approaching me and introducing himself, TOOK A PICTURE OF ME. This freaked me out, so I grabbed my friends and left the line. He snapchatted me again directly after, saying “wowww don’t say hi then” Now I was really confused, and even more scared because I realized I DIDN’T know what he looked like. I never saw anything other than his zoomed out Facebook profile picture. At that point, being stupid me, I responded and said “idk what u look like lol” to which he responded with a picture of himself and a “come find me *winky face*” I knew I didn’t want to find him, but I could at least look out for him.
Soon enough, the parade started and I saw an old family friend and was distracted catching up with him. I looked at my phone about 30 minutes later, and had 2 snapchats from Alex, one being “What are you doing after this'' and “Let me take you to the movies!” I just said no thank you, I’m going to my friend’s house to hang out. He said “I’ll take your friend with us”. This was just getting weird to me so I jokingly sent him back a video of all of my friends saying “NO!” with disgusted faces (stupid yes, but it was funny at the time). He then said he’d be happy to take all 5 of us, pay for all 5 of us, and everything just as long as he could see me. My friends thought it was hilarious that he was so persistent, but I was just finding this creepy. Yet again, I explained he was too old for me and that I just was not interested. After I opened my phone after the parade to see 5 missed snapchats, I did what I should have done months ago, and blocked him on everything. Even after everyone joking about this, something still just did not sit right with me about the situation. Whenever I got home that night, I told my dad everything because I could not shake my weird gut feeling. He assured me that just blocking him was the right thing, and that I should be okay.
A few months later, I was sitting in my dorm at school when my friend sent me a picture. It was a mugshot of Alex, who had just been arrested. He had been at the mall, harassing and catcalling a little 16 year old girl. When she didn’t accept any of his advances, he choked her out and punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious. . After reading this, I ran to the bathroom and threw up. Not only because what he did was extremely wrong, but for so many more reasons. His REAL last name was in the post. I had only seen him on Facebook as “Alex Smith”, but his actual name was “Alex Doe” (again, fake names). Now this freaked me out, because when I was 14, a boy named Alex Doe used to message me all the time on Facebook. He was 19 at this time, and would message me then say “Just do not tell Kayla!”, who was his cousin in my grade. Obviously, he had some ill intention back then too, but I was smart enough to stop answering. So I stopped answering until I saw one day he got arrested for sending a dick pic to an underage boy. After all of this time, just now finding out this was the same guy made me sick to my stomach. I knew I should have trusted my gut about him. He recently got out of prison and tried following my Instagram again, to which I blocked him there. He has always made it back into my life in little ways, like hitting on my underage sister. I haven’t heard from him or seen him in almost two years at this point, but I’d REALLY prefer to keep it that way.

I know I'm a bit late on this topic. I watched it on Christmas Day, 2022 (illegally, of course)... and aside from the forced-in gay romance that has nothing to do with anything and can easily be censored out for a Chinese release, the film didn't really get woke until around the 70-minute mark. That's when they went all gung-ho on the political environmentalist message. The planet was taken back to primitive times because Avalonia (LBP2 would like to have a word with you, btw) had to "make sacrifices" and stop using the renewable energy source called Pando. It's an obvious metaphor for global warming.
So why do I think the film wasn't supposed to be woke? Well... the ending contradicts the rest of the story! Parts of the film imply that Pando is the giant creature continent's immune system. Early in the film, Callisto says that a virus infected the heart of Pando (which is revealed to be the creature's heart), which is why the heart stopped "pumping" Pando. However, around the 70-minute mark, Ethan says that Pando is "poisoning" the creature and that humans need to stop using it. So... which one is it? It's like they changed the story last-minute JUST to make it woke.
Also, of course, the gay couple has no plot relevance at all and is mentioned like 4 times; clearly a last-minute decision.
Disney is the King (sorry... Non-Binary Ruler) of Woke. They ruined Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and even Big Hero 6 (one of their OWN properties). However, not everything they produce is woke. Some things "slip through the cracks" and are actually good, like Andor, Infinity War (almost), and Soul. Aside from the forced-in gay couple, rushed, cliche beginning, and woke, contradictory ending, Strange World is... dare I say... a good film! Not boring at all. The second act has great character chemistry, a cool sci-fi aesthetic, good pacing, and a good plot. It's a shame, seriously.
