2023.03.22 17:59 fuzbuster83 Intro Post

I've started this subreddit as a place that people could organize some meetups to play or swap board games. A few years back I was introduced to Zombicide and that opened my eyes beyond Monopoly and the like. Since then, I have dedicated a room in my house to doing table top games. We have made some friends that love playing board games, but not everyone is always available, or even local.
There is at least one place in town that I'm aware of that is a public space for playing board games, but that is a 25-30 minute drive for me so I'm hoping the members of this page would keep it local to the West side of town for a majority of the content, but posting about news/events anywhere in and around Columbus would be welcomed.

2023.03.22 17:53 Dismal-Jellyfish SEC Alert! Commissioner Hester M. Peirce statement on Electronic Filing: 'I am concerned about registrants’ ability to devote the necessary attention to this highly technical release.' ' We want to get these changes right, and we need commenters’ help, but commenters are overwhelmed at the moment.'

Source: https://www.sec.gov/news/statement/peirce-statement-electronic-filing-032223
Thank you, Mr. Chair. Today’s proposal represents an important step in the Commission’s welcome transition from paper to electronic filing requirements, and I support it. Digital technologies have transformed our world over the past several decades, and our markets are no exception: From internal and external communications, to books and records, to the routing and matching of orders, these technologies have contributed to making the markets more efficient, faster moving, and more accessible to investors.
Because our rules have not always kept pace with these developments, regulated entities have had to rely on antiquated methods to meet various regulatory obligations.[1] Paper filings, even if scanned and submitted by email, can be cumbersome for firms to prepare and for investors and regulators to use. Making data reported on paper forms available for investors to conduct cross-firm or market-wide analyses can require substantial, often intensive, manual effort, which can result in significant delays and the inadvertent introduction of errors into the data. Today’s proposal would move a number of forms to electronic formats, which should reduce compliance burdens for, and increase information availability, usability, and reliability in connection with, a broad range of Commission registrants. I welcome these changes.
I am concerned about registrants’ ability to devote the necessary attention to this highly technical release. Registrants overseen by the Division of Trading and Markets have been flooded with proposals over the past two years, and today’s proposal addresses a wide swathe of the Commission’s regulations. We want to get these changes right, and we need commenters’ help, but commenters are overwhelmed at the moment.
I hope to get comment on several specific issues. First, this proposal contains some substantive changes, including with respect to where certain information is to be published and what information is to be included in certain filings.[2] Registrants should not simply assume that this release represents nothing more than a transition from paper to electronic filing. The Commission needs your input on changes to the filings that you are required to make under these rules, and I hope you will provide us with that input, even as I recognize that you have precious little time to do so.
Second, we are proposing a significant increase in the use of structured data. Market participants increasingly rely on structured data to facilitate financial and market analysis, but I have concerns about overly prescriptive Commission-mandated standards in this area, which could become obsolete faster than the Commission can update its requirements.[3] The proposed amendments that would require the submission of structured data generally specify that registrants use either custom XML or Inline XBRL. Although these choices appear reasonable given current technology and practices in the financial markets, is it prudent or necessary to embed this level of specificity in our rule text? We at the Commission may not be able to envision future technological developments that would render these standards obsolete, but history suggests that those advances will eventually appear, whether in the form of a more advanced tagging system or, perhaps, of an AI capable of extracting any data an analyst requests. Indeed, the Commission has seen unexpected technological developments render its rules out-of-date in the past and no doubt will do so again in the future.[4] For example, a more general standard—such as one specifying only that the information be filed in a format that is both machine- and human-readable[5]—might be appropriate for certain filings. If further specificity is warranted, the rules could provide that the Commission or its staff may specify, from time to time, standards as appropriate for particular types of filings. Either approach would have the advantage of permitting greater flexibility for market participants and the Commission to respond to future developments in the way analysts and others use financial data.
I also hope that commenters will tell us whether this proposal gets the balance between costs and benefits right. Does the proposal appropriately draw the line between where structured data is appropriate and beneficial and where it would provide little benefit? In several cases, the proposal would require filers to use structured data for non-public filings, meaning that the public will not benefit directly from those requirements. Do commenters believe that convenience to the Commission in its internal use of the data warrants the expense that filers may bear in structuring the information they are required to report? Finally, have we made the right decisions in prescribing what markup language should be used for particular types of data?
Thank you, David, Ray, and Jessica for your presentations, and thank you to staff of the Division of Trading and Markets, the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, and throughout the Commission for your work on this release.

2023.03.22 17:52 Twisted-Mind-ytc Pamplona Massacre

On March 4, 2023, Roel Degamo, the governor of Negros Oriental in the Philippines, was shot numerous times at his home in Pamplona, Negros Oriental, by unidentified persons. When the attack occurred, he was providing aid to local Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) participants. He was taken to Negros Polymedic Hospital in Sibulan but died at 11:41 a.m. The event also claimed the lives of eight more people.
The shooting also claimed the lives of eight more persons. A barangay kagawad and another civilian were killed after being mistaken for Degamo's bodyguards.
A fifth suspect in the murder of Degamo, along with eight others, has surrendered and verified the statements of four other arrested suspects who implicated Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr.
Degamo took over as province governor from Teves' brother, Pryde Henry Teves, when the Commission on Elections (Comelec) overturned Pryde Henry's proclamation as the winner of the May 9, 2022, elections last September. This occurred after the Comelec credited a nuisance candidate's votes in favor of Degamo.
Last February, the Supreme Court upheld the Comelec decision.
The congressman travelled to the United States on Feb. 28 for stem cell treatment but did not return even after his travel authorization expired on March 9, prompting his colleagues, led by Romualdez, to urge him to return home and face the charges and allegations leveled against him.
Teves' refusal to return to the Philippines has raised concerns about his and his family's safety, but authorities have stated that they are prepared to provide security for him.
In a news conference with other top Task Force Degamo officials on Monday, March 20, 2023, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla declared the latest suspect was a "direct participant" in the killings.
Teves had denied any involvement in the crime even before he was linked to Degamo's murder because he expected to be accused for the death of his political adversary. Remulla expressed hope that Teves would return, but admitted that the lawmaker had made no indication of his intention to do so.

2023.03.22 17:46 Lacriminals How do you cope

I’m 25 and live at home not only because of the economy but to take care of my mother who’s a narcissist. College was my escape plan but that fell through. I’m at home and I’m always angry. Anytime I bring up her incessant gossiping about me despite me supporting her she literally runs into her room and stays there. I’ve called out the way she speaks about me to everyone (she yells and so do my other family on the phone I wouldn’t even be eavesdropping I’m in the living room and she’s in hers, she will tell people I’m arguing with her and I’ll just be telling her about the news.) but I’m supposed to have a relationship with these people. I commonly pay for groceries or when we go out but there have been times I’ve asked her for the tip and she ignores me so I pay to not make a scene. Recently I realize I cannot hold back my disdain for her at all even in public I’m in therapy to try to deal with this but. She literally will rant about stuff that hasn’t happened and I just leave her where she is. She will be angry of something she thinks I ask of her (like driving me places I never talked about, and she never taught me to drive nor do I have anyone in my life that would teach me.) I’ve started to snap on her, leave her places or unfortunately cause a scene. I know she’s suffered a lot in life but she refuses to take responsibility for the things she’s done to her children. I’m at a loss. What should be my next steps as someone whose mother financially depends on them?

2023.03.22 17:46 doktaphill THE PASSENGER - ANNOUNCEMENT AND NOTES

Hi
I'm going to upload my review of THE PASSENGER by Cormac McCarthy later, and I wanted to drop the notes I used to guide the video here. I also have an article that I will post in a moment. The notes are not very structured by feature references to key passages and provide some insight. Feel free to respond with issues or thoughts, and be sure to pet your cat today.

notes

p. 42, the agents interrogate Bobby
*** p. 47, Bobby mentions that he “left Oiler to get into the plane” while he went back up to the surface. It may be that the agents are constructing a story in order to fill the void, and will later take out Oiler as a possible tamperer. They would then logically take out Bobby for knowing too much. During the conversation, Bobby revealed that they did not take anything from the plane. This might also lay the groundwork for later suspicions of tampering. It’s clear the government does not want this plane to enter into public knowledge.
p. 49, The cohorts
p. 61

“When he got back to the beaach the sun was low over the water and he stood there looking out to the west, the slow gray swells and the thin bight of shore beyond and somewhere beyond that the city where the lights would be coming up. He sat in the sand and dug in his heels and crossed his arms over his knees and watched the sunset and the light on the water. The thin reach of land to the south would be the Chandeleur Archipelago. Beyond that the hydra mouth of the river. Beyond that Mexico. The low tide lapped and drew back. He could be the first person in creation. Or the last. He rose and walked up the beach to the boat and pushed off and climbed in and went to the rear to ballast it off the sand. He took up the oar and poled his way out through the shallows and then sat there watching the deep red of the sunset darken and die.

p. 109 “[Alicia] I suppose that sooner or later you’ll exhaust your little bag of tricks. What happens then?
[Kid] Time will tell.
[Alicia] Your shadow moving over the floor as you pass the lamp is a nice touch but I’m not buying it.
[Kid] Just an elementary observation I suppose. Well, you can’t say that we don’t try.
A Or the fact that you darken a mirror.
K Yeah, but can he cloud one?
A I don’t know. I dont know and I dont care. It’s not germane.
K Or Lucy or Mabel. Maybe I should pinch myself.
A That’s to see if you’re dreaming.
K And that’s not a reasonable inquiry I suppose. Well, we wont sweat it. There’s thornier issues on the table. When are you going back to school? Your grandmother’s not going to call in sick for you forever you know.
A I know.
K You keep odd hours.
A I’m an odd girl.
K Up all night scribbling calculations on your yellowpad. Maybe you should try counting sheep. Or in your case maybe logging sheep. For the numerically enhanced.
A I’ll keep it in mind.
K Or you just sit staring into space. I guess that’s part of the modus. How do you know it’s not all gibberish?
A You don’t. That’s what you’re trying to find out.
K When is Bobby Shafto coming?
A My brother will be here in two weeks.
K And then what?
A What do you mean then what?
K What are your intentions is what I mean by then what.
A My intentions?
K Yes.
A He’s my brother.
K Like you haven’t set your cap for him. To phrase it chastely.
A You don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyway, it’s none of your business.
K Well. You know me.
… Afterwards he calls her “Sweet Sixteen,” and she denies that she is sixteen years old. This should indicate that they had had a remarkable encounter when she was 16.
p. 115
“In the evening he went down to the bar and got a hamburger and a beer. No one spoke to him. When he went out Josie tilted her chin at him. I’m sorry, Bobby, she said. He nodded. He walked up the street. The old paving stones wet with damp. New Orleans. November 29th 1980. He stood waiting to cross. The headlights of the car coming down the street doubled on the wet black stones. A ship’s horn in the river. The measured trip of the piledriver. He was cold standing there in the fine rain and he crossed the street and went on. When he got to the cathedral he went up the stairs and went in.”

“There were people who escaped from Hiroshima and rushed to Nagasaki to see that their loved ones were safe. Arriving just in time to be incinerated. He went there after the war with a team of scientists. My father. He said that everything was rusty. Everything looked covered with rust. There were burnt-out shells of trolleycars standing in the streets. The glass melted out of the sashes and pooled on the bricks. Seated on the blackened springs the charred skeletons of the passengers with their clothes and hair gone and their bones hung with blackened strips of flesh. Their eyes boiled from their sockets. Lips and noses burned away. Sitting in their seats laughing. The living walked about but there was no place to go. They waded by the thousands into the river and died there. They were like insects in that no one direction was preferable to another. Burning people crawled among the corpses like some horror in a vast crematorium. They simply thought that the world had ended. It hardly even occurred to them that it had anything to do with the war. They carried their skin bundled up in their arms before them like wash that it not drag in the rubble and ash and they passed one another mindlessly on their mindless journeyings over the smoking afterground, the sighted no better served than the blind. The news of all this did not even leave the city for two days. Those who survived would often remember these horrors with a certain aesthetic to them. In that mycoidal phantom blooming in the dawn like an evil lotus and in the melting of solids not heretofore known to do so stood a truth that would silence poetry a thousand years. Like an immense bladder, they would say. Like some sea thing. Wobbling slightly on the near horizon. Then the unspeakable noise. They saw birds in the dawn sky ignite and explode soundlessly and fall in long arcs earthward like burning party favors.”

p. 165

“The rolling hills and ridges to the east. Somewhere beyond that the installation at Oak Ridge for enriching uranium that had led his father here from Princeton in 1943 and where he’d met the beauty queen he would marry. Western fully understood that he owed his existence to Adolf Hitler. That the forces of history which had ushered his troubled life into the tapestry were those of Auschwitz and Hiroshima, the sister events that sealed forever the fate of the West.”
“A hawk appeared out of the woods below and rose effortlessly and came about and drifted quarterwise down the wind and turned and rose again and hovered. Broadwing. Buteo platypterus. It passed so close he could see its eye. Eleven millimeters. The great horned owl’s were twenty-two. The same as the whitetailed deer. But rich in rods. Nighthunter. The hawk turned and dipped and skated off down the slope and then rose again, standing into the wind. Motionless. You should have migrated by now. The hawk turned once more and then it was gone. He looked again for his grandmother’s house. The green metal roof. The red brick chimney in need of tuckpointing. Her car in the driveway. How far is that? Two miles? He rose and hiked out along the crest of the ridge. A cold wind in the sun. Fox scat in the pathway. A twelvebore shotshell case trodden into the dirt. The small bent hardwood trees rooted in rock and pointing out the way the wind had gone.”
p. 198, Bobby racing
p. 199 any kind of reality he’d a stake in
p. 209, drilling, “news from another world”
p. 367, he is in Spain and imagining being on the beach with a woman. He interrupts his thoughts with this passage:
“Here is a story. The last of all men who stands alone in the universe while it darknes about him. Who sorrows all things with a single sorrow. Out of the pitiable and exhausted remnants of what was once his soul he’ll find nothing from which to craft the least thing godlike to guide him in these last of days.”

“Pale woodslave lizards circled the rings of light cast upon the ceiling by the tablelamps. Stalking the moths like predators at a waterhole. Their tufted feet. Van der Waals forces. He nodded to the men and raised his glass.”

p. 369,
“He cycled through the small port. Down the thin graveled estuary road and out along the flats. Where the salt was once evaporated for the city of Carthage. Frumentaria. The Roman word. The lights of Ibiza coming up off to the north. He sat on a stone that held an ancient iron ring and worked on a flat tired against the coming darkness. His bike standing on its forks against the wall. He listened as he fed the rubber tube past his ear. He sorted a patch from the small leather satchel that hung from the underside of the bicycle seat.”
McCarthy is talking about the Punic Wars. Scipio Africanus and his grandson, Scipio Aemilianus, worked tirelessly to conquer the city, only for the junior Scipio to find it burning in 146 BC. He supposedly tried salting over the earth so that it would never rise again.
We all know that Cato the Elder would end every single speech by wishing destruction to Carthage. “Carthago delenda est.” At this point in the Roman Republic, the city-state was still attaining its status as an “empire” by gradually taking over specific geographic tracts. It did not have designs to be an “empire,” a concept that did not exist at that point in history, but they discovered that the central government was empowered by having assets and colonies abroad. The Punic Wars coincided with Rome’s attempts at sacking Greek states, which caused an influx of Greek culture to the eternal city. They were tasting the power of hegemony. Carthage, because it was so steadfast and so difficult to take down, acted as a kind of antithesis to Rome. It was intolerable. Throughout its history, as McCarthy notes by calling it “Frumentaria” (which is a vernacular way of describing how it supplies grain), Carthage was treated as a vassal state rather than one of the formerly most powerful polities in the Mediterranean. It had to be destroyed because its existence called the strength of Rome into question.
It is this antithesis that I think Bobby is noting, mentally. Just like how he is eventually described as “the last pagan,” his steadfastness is offensive to those who demand to know. The truth is, as he seems to implicitly maintain, knowledge does not exist. It’s a myth as powerful as God. Alicia also understands that most of what she knows is probably “gibberish” (the Kid’s words).
The state of being a “passenger” in this sense is to be accountable. The missing passenger represents that Carthaginian anomaly that cannot be tolerated. The unknowable ranks alongside Judge Holden as an antagonist, in my opinion. Both Bobby and his pursuers are victims of the same influence. Only Bobby seems to understand the beast, however. It’s as if Grendel had bribed the Danes to kill Beowulf. A creature that can never be known, or else it would be destroyed.

2023.03.22 17:46 PrimeVector19 It has been 23 years since Leah Roberts disappeared. What happened to her?

For the better part of the last 30 years, Heath and Kara Roberts, Leah Roberts’ older siblings, have been wondering daily about the ultimate fate of their little sister.
Leah embarked on what appeared to be a soul-searching excursion, all the way from her home town of Durham, North Carolina to Whatcom County, Washington.
Due to this case, being fairly prominent on this subreddit, I will not divulge the entire case; the sources I have provided will do that for you. Instead, I will discuss the most common theories on here.
Theories
Eventual suicide as a result of a manic episode, exacerbated by an early life with a lot of tragedy and trauma - Leah had become an orphan before she was even 23 years old, and she had been involved in a near-fatal car accident.
A lot of people suspect that Leah was in a manic state when she embarked on her cross-country road trip. Despite leaving behind a note that claimed she was not suicidal, her state of mind has piqued the curiosity of many who have followed her case - and many also feel that she may have even taken her own life right near a Jack Kerouac-inspired destination in Washington.
Death by misadventure - Leah’s 1993 white Jeep Cherokee was found wrecked and abandoned on a road off of Mount Baker Highway at the foot of the Cascade Mountains. There was no evidence of a robbery or struggle, and her cat, Bea, was also gone. Some suspect that Leah had died from exposure to the wilderness, or was even attacked by a wild animal.
Foul play - There has been a lot of speculation as to whether an unknown person had staged the car wreck, and had done harm to Leah. In 2006, it was discovered that a wire had been cut, which allowed the car to accelerate without anyone needing to put their foot on the gas pedal. The investigating detectives found a fingerprint under the hood, and some male DNA on an article of Leah’s clothing.
This discovery led the detectives back to the man who had claimed that Leah had left the Bellis Fair restaurant with a man named “Barry”; this man had worked as a mechanic, in addition to having a military background. This man has moved to Canada since - and though his fingerprint was not a match, detectives were still waiting on the DNA sample.
Disappeared deliberately to start a new life - I almost never put any stock into disappearing in order to start a new life. I think a lot of people severely underestimate the excruciating difficulty of such a maneuver.
To be able to pull this off, a person needs to have ample money, connections, resources, and not slip up even once. Leah was able to live off the money she received from her inheritance, and her state of mind is to be considered here, but her case is well-known, and she wouldn’t have been able to live off her inheritance money forever - in addition to having to forge an entirely new identity, and essentially become a new person.
At the end of the day, it is beyond tragic that Leah’s brother and sister still do not have closure to this day, nearly a quarter-century after the disappearance of their sister. I have my doubts about any resolutions for this case, but I can only hope that her siblings can find out the truth one day.
What do you believe happened to Leah Roberts?

SAO PAULO - Federal police raided locations in several states Wednesday to crack down on a crime gang accused of plotting assassinations and kidnappings of public officials including a former judge who presided over Brazil's biggest corruption case.
About 120 agents carried out 24 search and seizure warrants and 11 arrest warrants in the states of Sao Paulo, Parana, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rondonia, police said in a statement, which did not name the suspects or their intended targets.
A Federal Police official confirmed that one of the targets was Sen. Sérgio Moro, who as a judge presided over the Carwash bribery and money laundering case that opened in 2014 and eventually ensnared current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Moro said on Twitter he had been targeted for retaliation by one of Brazil's most notorious drug trafficking gangs, known as the First Capital Command.
Neither the police nor the Justice Ministry confirmed that information.
Federal police last year investigated a plan by the First Capital Command to kidnap federal public servants, aiming to exchange them for the release of Marco Willians Camacho, the gang's imprisoned leader, according to a report from online media UOL..

2023.03.22 17:42 phatster88 One more reason to buy the stock not the product

https://insideevs.com/news/658359/tesla-model-3-used-prices-drop-more-than-all-cars/amp/
"Over the course of the last six months, the Tesla electric sedan has shown the most substantial price drop. In fact, the publication says Model 3 pre-owned prices are now down a whopping 21.5% from September 2022 and 19.3% year-over-year. Meanwhile, the average used car is only selling at a meager 4.7% discount."
It shows that a Tesla is in same segment as Mercedes. And the lesson is to never buy, lease and let the lessor deal with all the problems.
Good luck with that 25k USD model.

2023.03.22 17:42 SixStringSuperfly Edible Garden Reports 10% Revenue Growth for 2022

March 22, 2023
Edible Garden Reports 10% Revenue Growth for 2022
Achieves Third Consecutive Quarter of Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth
Reports Strong Execution and Projects Turning Cash Flow Positive in 2023
BELVIDERE, N.J., March 22, 2023 — Edible Garden AG Incorporated (“Edible Garden” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: EDBL, EDBLW), a leader in controlled environment agriculture (CEA), locally grown, organic and sustainable produce and products, today provided a business update and reported financial results for the three month and full year periods ended December 31, 2022.
Mr. Jim Kras, Chief Executive Officer of Edible Garden, commented, “We are pleased to report that for the third consecutive quarter, since last year’s IPO, we achieved year-over-year growth in top-line revenue. We believe we have prudently deployed our capital, which has resulted in continued momentum and growth of the Edible Garden brand.”
“During a point in time when many businesses are struggling, we continue to expand our market penetration, perform consistently, and have kept our pricing relatively stable during a period of rapid inflation. Moreover, we expect to see an increase in margins once our Heartland Midwest facility is fully operational. Based on our current trajectory, we believe Edible Garden will turn cash flow positive later this year.”
“The Company continues to build out our nationwide distribution network by adding retail partners across the Northeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeastern regions of the country. Additionally, we are diversifying our product offerings to include what we expect will be higher-margin products and new product categories. Furthermore, Edible Garden’s Zero-Waste Inspired® mission continues to resonate well with environmentally conscious consumers, as well as our retail distribution partners, resulting in a growing demand for our products.”
“Our achievements in the fourth quarter included the introduction of three new salad kits featuring locally grown, sustainable, cut lettuce, along with all the ingredients required to make a complete salad. Additionally, we acquired the Pulp® line of all-natural, Non-GMO, preservative-free, sustainable gourmet sauces and chili-based products, which will be available at Whole Foods Market’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern retail locations in the summer of 2023. These fermented sauces are located in the refrigerated section of the supermarket, typically adjacent to the produce section, allowing us to leverage Edible Garden’s growing brand recognition within this new category of products. This is an important step forward for the Edible Garden brand, allowing us to offer what we believe will be higher-margin products, with an extended shelf life. It also provides us with the opportunity for a further expansion of our distribution network with the addition of Whole Foods Market. Moreover, we added Morton Williams Supermarkets to our robust distribution network in the Northeast, which has begun carrying Edible Garden’s produce and products in all of their locations in the New York Metropolitan area. In addition, we deepened our penetration with Gristedes and D’Agostino supermarkets, and significantly expanded our product placement within their combined locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Westchester.”
“Importantly, we are committed to leveraging the latest technologies to advance our strategy of increasing yields and maximizing the nutritional value of locally grown produce. The Company recently entered into a research partnership with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the USDA, and the EPA, studying the impacts of nanobubble technology in a CEA environment. This EPA-funded partnership has the potential to revolutionize the industry, providing more nutritious plants with longer shelf lives, which could greatly benefit Edible Garden’s entire product line.”
Financial results for the three months ended December 31, 2022
For the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2022, revenue totaled $3.1 million, an increase of 9.9%, compared to $2.8 million for the three months ended December 31, 2021. The increase was driven by increased demand from the existing customer base.
Cost of goods sold was $3.0 million for the three months ended December 31, 2022, compared to $2.8 million for the three months ended December 31, 2021. The increase was the result of higher packaging costs due to inflation, higher labor costs due to the tight labor market, and increases in rates charged by contract farmers.
Selling, general and administrative expenses were $3.1 million for the three months ended December 31, 2022, compared to $1.7 million for the three months ended December 31, 2021. The increase was primarily driven by higher payroll and compensation expense, as well as other public company expenses that were not incurred in 2021.
Net loss was $3.0 million, or ($9.13) per share, for the three months ended December 31, 2022, compared to a net loss of $2.0 million, or ($12.76) per share, for the three months ended December 31, 2021.

For the year ended December 31, 2022, revenue totaled $11.6 million, an increase of 9.9%, compared to $10.5 million for the year ended December 31, 2021. The increase was driven by higher demand from the existing customer base.
Cost of goods sold was $11.2 million for the year ended December 31, 2022, compared to $9.9 million for the year ended December 31, 2021. The increase was the result of higher packaging costs due to inflation, higher labor costs due to the tight labor market, and higher costs charged by contract farmers.
Selling, general and administrative expenses were $9.4 million for the year ended December 31, 2022, compared to $5.6 million for the year ended December 31, 2021. The increase was primarily driven by higher payroll and compensation expense, which included one-time expenses related to the completion of the Company’s IPO, as well as other public company expenses that were not incurred in 2021.
Net loss was $12.5 million, or ($48.68) per share, for the year ended December 31, 2022, compared to a net loss of $5.5 million, or ($39.28) per share, for the year ended December 31, 2021. Per share amounts have been adjusted to reflect all stock splits.

2023.03.22 17:39 knightblaster01 Do Porsche’s have a reputation for safety?

Hello people of Reddit,
Here’s a little context. My wife and I have historically loved BMWs. My wife’s family had a 3-series, a 5-series, and an X3. I had the privilege of experiencing the thrill of German engineering for the first time when my father-in-law allowed me to drive his X3 on a regular basis.
We’ve been in a few accidents over the years. Some were when the other driver was at fault, and some were unexpected like the tire exploding and losing control at about 80mph.
In all the cases, the BMW was stable and safe. In cases of collision, we all walked away unharmed. When the tire blew up, the car (X3) swerved, but didn’t immediately flip over and lose balance, or lose structural integrity.
All these experiences have led me to believe that BMWs are safe (relatively). This is collaborated anecdotally by the number of posts I see about BMWs being rear-ended by trucks and the driver & passengers walking away from a crushed car. I also see that BMW has received a number of safety awards/ratings by publicly known institutions like IIHS and NHTSA.
Here’s where this post becomes relevant to this group and all its beautiful members.
My wife is about to buy her first car. She has fallen in love with the Porsche Panamera. I’m on board, but only if I can see anecdotes, reputed awards, or public ratings attesting to its safety.
I couldn’t find very much from a Google search, so I’m reaching out to the members of this group to start off with.
Do Porsche’s have a reputation for safety? Or is it all about the thrill of speed and handling? Going further: why do you love your Porsche? I’d love to learn more about what makes Porsche’s amazing and a joy to drive, and I don’t want to learn about it for the first time from a Porsche salesperson!
I hope this is an appropriate question to ask!

2023.03.22 17:31 Ok-Research4665 Glitter Conspiracy where did it all go

This is a something I haven’t put to much thought into but it just makes sense to me watching the video below and I just pieced somethings together and you could prolly come to the same conclusion I did. I believe that the glitter shortage was due to the influx of air fryers and non-stick pans. When you think of most non-stick pans in the stores they always have a sparkle to them such as glitter does and if you have been up-to-date with the news and non-stick pans they are saying to be careful because PFAs have been found in the non-stick pan. If you search what glitter is made out you’ll see that they are made out of a material called PET along with anything that is shiny. I am definitely not a chemist but what if the big corporations that make all the non-stick pans take glitter and add the ‘shiny things’ and compresses/process the glitter into some type of coating that create non-stick items. And the reaction from compressing/processing the glitter creates the PFAs that we are warned of. I did do a little research as I was typing this and it’s doesn’t seem entirely impossible to happen. Now I know that this seems like a stretch but if you think of when the shortage happened in Dec. 2022 I believe air fryers were becoming a really big thing. With the one small interview that the public’s has and it being said ‘they don’t want you to know it’s made of of glitter’ one can only speculate something that looks like glitter or is glittery would be made out of glitter.

2023.03.22 17:31 Advanced_Falcon_2816 Mexican Drug Cartels Apparently Think Skilled GTA Online Players Make Great Meth Mules

I have no personal frame of reference for this opinion, but I imagine being a drug runner for the Mexican cartel (or any cartel) is loads more fun in a video game setting than in real life. The latter pays more I'm sure, but the stress, risk to life and limb, and persistent threat of jail time have me convinced to stick with legal employment. Not so for some GTA Online gamers who thought it a good idea to become meth mules.
It sounds wild (because it is), but apparently drug cartels sometimes use online multiplayer video games as a source for new blood. Back in October of last year, for example, Mexico's assistant public safety secretary, Ricardo Mejía, said a cartel recruiter purchased bus tickets for three teenagers between 11 and 14 years old.
The recruiter found the teens on Garena Free Fire, a popular online game, and offered them each $200 per week to serve as lookouts for the cartel. Authorities detained the teens before they boarded the bus, but Mejía told ABC News that other cartels have also recruited drug mules and lookouts through video games, including Call of Duty, Gears of War, and Grand Theft Auto V.
Now three months later, Forbes says it discovered that US officials have evidence showing GTA Online is also used as a recruitment tool for drug cartels.
It's not clear how long this has allegedly been going on, but according to the site, border agents stopped and inspected a Jeep Cherokee in Arizona last November and found almost 60 kilograms of methamphetamine. The driver, Alyssa Navarro, said a man named George first contacted her in GTA Online, through which they got to know each other over time.
Those in-game chats later pivoted over to Snapchat, where George raised the idea of being a runner, albeit for electronics to be sold in Mexico. Navarro claims she was offered up to $2,000 per trip, depending on the size of the load.
The only problem for Navarro is that the cartel allegedly hid meth in the Jeep's fuel tank. Authorities have charged Navarro with conspiracy to import and sell meth, and also possession, charges for which she has pleaded not guilty.
It remains to be seen how that case will turn out. Suffice to say, though, if someone online propositions you for an offer that seems too good to be true—or is outright illegal—it's best to politely decline.

2023.03.22 17:28 beatleswmc01 Death Announcement A Month After Passing?

Hi everyone. How often do you guys recall seeing a death announcement that’s around at least a month after someone’s departure from this life?
Onslow County, NC (on the coast, where Camp Lejeune is now)
I found a piece of paper that may be a transcription from a family Bible and says he died 1/24/1886 and the earliest obituary I’ve found was 3/3/1886. That’s only a month and it’s certainly not insane, so I’m posting this to gauge y’all’s experience.
There’s nothing wrong with the family mourning first or they may have waiting until his affairs were in order, plus things were less fast paced back then before the internet.
The year matches up with the potential transcription and the date isn’t AFTER the publication.
Thanks!
