The stock had sold off primarily due to concerns about a slowing economy (which impacts cyclical chip stocks) and Taiwan Semi's geopolitical risk with China. The industry leader now sells for an inexpensive valuation -- sporting a price-to-earnings ratio of 14 (near a 10-year low).
Shares of Taiwan Semi got an additional boost after Nvidia blew expectations out of the water and soared to a new all-time high. While Taiwan Semi doesn't have the direct exposure to AI that a chip company like Nvidia does, it does provide a catch-all way to benefit from a rising tide in AI and robotics.
Taiwan Semi operates a third-party foundry business that receives designs from customers like Apple, Nvidia, and Advanced Micro Devices (among others) and manufactures chips to their specifications. In this vein, Taiwan Semi is one of the more straightforward ways to indirectly benefit from a growing chip industry. Instead of building a new factory and hoping customers come knocking on the door, Taiwan Semi's expansions are more so in response to its customers demanding higher volumes and increasingly sophisticated products.
There's a short list of third-party foundries that can handle a surge in chip manufacturing as a result of AI and other trends -- giving Taiwan Semi a wide moat in addition to massive growth potential. The biggest risk for this company is geopolitical. However, it is combating that risk by expanding outside of Taiwan with a new 4-nanometer fab in Arizona and a sophisticated technology fab in Japan (both are expected to come online in late 2024).
With an inexpensive valuation, industry leadership, growth opportunities, cheap-looking shares, and a 1.9% dividend yield to boot, there's a lot to like about Taiwan Semi stock -- even though it's run up a lot in the last month.
GE's end markets keep improving

The reasoning behind this argument is that all three of its end markets continue to improve. GE is a much smaller company now than in Jack Welch and Jeff Immelt's heydays. Following the healthcare spinoff early this year, GE is now focused on aerospace (mainly commercial with some defense exposure), power (especially gas turbines and services), and renewable energy (wind power and grid solutions). In aerospace, GE continues to enjoy the benefits of the recovery in commercial aerospace and a gradually improving supply chain. GE Aerospace grew orders by 14% in the first quarter, and its joint venture with Safran, CFM International, is on track to ramp up production of its LEAP engines by 50% in 2023. While the LEAP comes with a negative engine margin, it generates highly lucrative aftermarket revenue spread over decades as the engines are used. In addition, GE Aerospace may have an opportunity to take market share on the Airbus A320 neo family of aircraft. Its competitor on the airplane, Raytheon Technologies' geared turbofan engine (GTF), has disappointed some airlines with durability issues in harsh environments. GE Power is heading for another solid year, with management forecasting low-single-digit revenue growth and "slightly better" operating profit than in 2022. However, given that the natural gas price has fallen by 74% over the last year and 33% this year, it's likely that gas turbine usage will increase, leading to more services revenue and a possible increase in investment in gas turbines. If you guys saw my previous post, I want to ditch and sell of my Pioneer. I like the Android Auto feature. I was looking at the Sony lineup and trying to "absorb" as much as I can from watching the demo videos etc. I saw the video for the XAV-9500ES and I really like the huge screen, but the unit is almost 1K. I'm concerned for similar issues like slow and poky interface, slow with andorid auto etc. I also notice most of the Sonys has a GPS antenna, what is that used for the android auto. Thought the phone supplied the GPS service?
I'm going down the list and I see below is the XAV-AX8100 followed by the XAV-AX6000 and the XAV-AX4000. There's a huge price difference as you go down, but the interface dosen't seem to change that much. The XAV-9500ES of course has the "ES" which is some sorta DAC chip that's in their premier sound systems etc. Also it has a screen that dosen't show too much glare. Has two rear camera inputs which is useful when I install a front camera. But it seems this is the only stereo that has two inputs for camers.
The XAV-AX8100 seems out of place and not sure where it fits, what is the "AX", the AX-6000 loses the ES and camera input among manybe some other things, but obviouslly the screen is smaller 6.95 which is the double-din size. then the AX-4000,, drops the HDMI, lower preamp voltage (why dose that matter)?
Are you just really paying more for a bigger screen?

I'm not even where to start, this is long I apologize in advance for errors, I'm on mobile...
Please bare with me as I have multiple chronic illnesses which cause my brain to be mushy 200% of the time... But I'll try to be as detailed as possible, I don't want to give too much away as this is a very serious issue and could get my husband in some serious trouble. Which he deserves to be in, BUT I'm currently waiting on a decision from social security disability so his full time employment means we have a home, food to eat and food for my 3 fur babies. He is supporting me and I do not have anything to fall back on in terms of support so I'm stuck still living with my husband.
The backstory: we've been together for almost ten years now, married for about 3. I have multiple slow progression painful chronic illnesses, I've been sick my whole life and he's taken on a huge responsibility being my partner... And I thought he accepted me for who I am not what I can offer. Mind you I'm not completely disabled, I'm able to do light housework, make his lunch for work, care for our pets and make simple dinners daily... So from chronic illness standards I'm doing pretty well for how progressed they are. Multiple of my illnesses causes severe pain so I take high dose pain meds to regulate myself on top of getting regular epidural steroid injections and ablations of the nerves in my spinal column to be able to walk. Back to the story, about 3 years into our relationship, the first time I noticed my meds were going missing I was on a low dose pain med called tramadol, he lied but eventually admitted to taking "a few". We moved forward but I had to hide my medication. The second time, fast forward a few years and we had moved into our new house. At this point I was taking lower dose Norco, but I was noticing I was light when I shouldn't have been. Confrontation again and I got a lock box. Third time I was spring cleaning and I found an empty checkbook full of my USED fentanyl patches, I had started using those due to not being able to keep my meds down completely. He had shaken them out of my sharps container then stored them away... Still not sure what he was going to do with them, it's basically skin cells by the time I take it off. I was ready to leave at this time but my parents had just moved 2 and a half hours away in a two bedroom small home. I had/have no where to go and no money to use to do anything about it... Things seemed fine for a couple years. The lock box was protecting my meds and things seemed ok... But I was still weary... Unfortunately my room in which I stored my lockbox got really cluttered due to many reasons so it became hard to use. Another part of me wanted to trust my husband. Stupid me, right?
Well to break down my dosage - I am prescribed a medium dose Norco 4x a day. Usually I only take 2-3 depending on pain and ration the rest in case of med shortage. But I was noticing my extra earrings were not as abundant as they should have been but I thought maybe I was taking a bit extra that month since it was winter. Due to recent medication shortages, my dose was increased but for 3x a day. Which I downgraded my dose to 2x a day to make sure I had extra as my pharmacy warned me they still can't get any in.
Come to the other day and I open my bottle to notice I only had a small handful... So I emptied the bottle and counted, i only had enough to take 2 a day for the next three days leaving me not only 3 Norco short for those days, but three days worth was completely gone... My heart sank because I knew what happened... I confronted my husband who lied about it at first but I asked him again and he finally admitted to taking "a few". I screamed at him for awhile before telling him to get out of my face and go to work, so he left. Sitting there I calculated not only did he steal about a months worth (1 a day) for May but he had to of stolen another two months worth during the previous months my meds weren't in the lock box... A MINIMUM of 90 Norco was taken from me when I absolutely needed them.
I wanted to file a police report that morning but was stopped by my mom who reminded me that I'm currently depending on him to survive. Only when social security goes through do I have any options of leaving... I currently pay about $315 a month on a student loan I'm not even able to use. It's not for not trying, I started working at the age of 14 but had to stop in 2020 due to multiple flare ups ending me up at 93 pounds plus in and out of the hospital on the regular.
Current situation, it's been 5 days, I asked him if he had anything to say to me at all, he said no. He still says I love you and tries to kiss me... I lean away in disgust... I'm disgusted with his audacity to take the medication that helps me be a person. I'm disgusted with myself that I do still love him but all feelings have been burned from his actions. It's obvious he has no respect for me and I'm not even sure if he married me because he loves me or if he just thought he'd have easy access to my medications for the rest of his life... Well my life. I feel obligated to continue my "wifely duties" such as making his lunch, picking up the house to the best of my abilities, make us dinner at night as he is the only one on the house so it's his, he's letting me stay despite my cold demeanor... Kinda keep the peace until I can figure a way out... It's selfish but so is he.
I do not have money to move on my own and I have to take my two large dogs and cat with me as he will neglect them, not intentionally, he has ADHD so he just forgets things. My parents said I could come up there but that means every doctors appointment I'm driving 5 hours both ways... And I have 5-7 a month. My best friend is in another state, my other bestie has 4 kids a husband and allergic to animals, 3rd friend lives with her aunt and uncle. I could crash at my brother's for a few days but not any longer... And my neighbor can't house my animals... That is my list of people, I have nobody else... Though who would want to roommate with someone who can't pay rent but can contribute to groceries, cook and light cleaning...
I'm not even sure why I'm posting... I'm very lost and confused. I've officially taken off my wedding band, I know I should file a report but he could lose his job which means he loses insurance meaning I lose insurance... I should leave him but I have nowhere to go... I told him the only way I'd even consider working on our relationship again is if he goes to therapy or rehab but he's said he'd go on the past just to not go or go once then never again...
My only plan I can think of is wait for social security to hopefully approve me then I can get my student loan waved, then I can look into low income apartments or housing... But who knows how long that's going to take, it's been in reconsideration since October of last year (22).
I'm gonna go potato now... Any helpful advice would be magical. Thank you

Hi, I (20F) have been really struggling to find a job I can handle. I currently work at a Walgreens, which is a complete mess, and it’s introducing extreme stress into my life. One thing about me is I am a huge control freak, it’s one of my biggest issues. If I have no control over a situation, I will break down. If I don’t have 100% control over everything, I break down. You see where the problem is?! This is a result of childhood trauma and a wonderful mix of autism. So, my current work environment is incredibly disorganized, which I CANNOT handle in the slightest. I currently live in a house with some roommates, and I have rent to pay, so I need money and I need to work. When I was at the interview for my current job, she told me I could work 25-30 hours a week and work shorter shifts (an accommodation for autism and chronic illness). So I would work 4-5 days a week in the mornings, which I was okay with because it’s usually pretty slow. Although I despise customer service and having to leave my house and talk to anyone who I am not close with. But, I have been working there about a month and a half, and I have had a total of FIVE shifts. She will not schedule me more. I also have no way on contacting her, as the app she told me to use is broken, and she is rarely at work. She told me it wasn’t in their budget to schedule me more than 15 hours a week, which is just incredibly rude to tell me I can work 25-30 and now this.
Anyway, I am hoping to find a new job, before I quit this one (yes I have asked multiple times to be scheduled more and it isn’t changing). I really want to find a job I like. Going to work has always filled me with dread and it ruins my whole day, and the day before I work. I hate having being forced to do things I hate. I know it’s inevitable but throughout my childhood, I was forced to constantly do things I hated, so I have had my fair share.

Hello,
I have 300 Mbps connection from a local ISP for 1060/- per month. I got that in December but from past few days it has become horrible. They get fiber cuts at least 2 times a month. Internet gets throttled to 10 Mbps (They said that it is unlimited connection so there shouldn't be). It is very unreliable. Whenever I call him and complain about slow internet. He says that just close your connection (And I wonder why India sucks at internet).
And just 6.5 KMs away from my house, My Friend has got Excitel, which is very good but the Excitel guy says that it is unavailable in my area. And when I ask him that if services will expand to my area then he replies "We don't know".
Is there any way that I can get that Excitel connection? I am ready to bear the costs of the fiber if they can get me the connection. Otherwise I have only one option left that is lay down fiber from my home to my friend's.

Edit: I also don't have any other choice for ISPs other than BSNL but maybe they just pay the local operator money to get me the connection and also their plans are super expensive.

I bought a new iPhone 13 this Friday, upgrading from my 5 yo iPhone 8 and I have no problems except that the Wi-Fi connection is frustratingly slow and painful. My internet connection is 50 mbps and using either speedtest or fast.com, I can get very close results with my old iPhone 8 and yet, results with my iPhone 13 is around 2 mbps. The issue is also apparent with YouTube, while I always managed to watch videos with 720p or 1080p resolution without any fuss with iPhone 8, YouTube app on iPhone 13 automatically decreases the resolution all the way to 240p or even worse.
To that point I already reset my network settings (migrated from iPhone 8), tried some fixes on my router (to no avail, only momentary improvements) and contacted Apple Support via the app and they ran a diagnostics test, they told that the hardware is OK and the problem lies on the router. My router is only 2.4 ghz, using WPA2 for security and is quite old tbh. Is it a sufficient argument that the router is problematic while my iPhone 8 has no problems with Wi-Fi connection at all and should I contact service for further diagnostics before contacting my ISP for a new router?

had several verizon "staff" show up to the front door, who would show up several days in a row several times a week. they would not take no for an answer and my elderly, mentally disabled mother finally relented. she let the salesman in and gave him all the info he asked for, filled out all the paperwork he gave her. all kinds of personal info like name, birthday, social security number, etc were given out. she was told she would receive a new router in the mail and have a workman show up to install it in the next week. no router arrived, no workman showed up, no calls occurred. she called the number the guy gave her and it said it was disconnected/out of service (suspicious considering that he was just using it for work days before). since his number suddenly didnt work she called the main verizon 1800 number. they would not verbally confirm whether or not they had actually sent anyone to our address or not in this phone call. all they would agree to do is ship out a router and schedule someone to set it up again. another week passes, making it now 2 weeks since the original contact - mind you, the policy they have in regards to their "free trial period" is only 30 days total, and they have now eaten up 50% thru incompetency whether intentional or not. we finally get the router in the mail (no workman ever showed up at any point nor was there ever any contact in regards to this) with 1.5 weeks left to try it, and it cant be set up, as the connectors to their router doesnt fit into the cords/cables we have already. she calls the verizon 1800 number once more and this time they explain that actually, we were never in their service area to begin with, and now we have to mail the router back to them. it occurs to me that as a company they knew full well where their service area reaches and intentionally sent someone to an area they don't even service for the purpose of collecting data.
