The Scholarship was established in 1999 by Mr Antonio Regueiro Diaz, Esq.
The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students financially in carrying out their PhD Research in a Spanish-speaking country.
Eligibility for Scholarship:
The Scholarship shall be awarded to a PhD candidate who is enrolled and who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for study in the Department of Spanish Languages in the year of the Award. The basis of selection shall be academic merit and the scholarly merit of the research proposal.
How to apply:
Applications by way of a letter close with the Head of Department of Spanish Languages on 15 October in the year prior to the year of award. The application must include a curricum vitae, a description of the research project which also include information of previous research in the similar or related fields, with preliminary bibliographic data, progress of the project to date, likely outcome of the trip in question and an explanation as to why it is necessary to carry out the research in the chosen geographic locale(s). 1. Objectives:
The aim of this activity is to improve the quality of higher education and to reinforce its international dimension, to promote cooperation between partner universities, and to increase student mobility.
The main objective is to participate in the financing of academic exchanges of Master’s or PhD students from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) throughout their stay at UPC.
2. Eligible candidates:
Applications are sought from students in engineering master’s or PhD programmes (http://www.upc.edu/eng/education/master-and-post-graduate-courses?set_language=en&cl=en ).
Successful applicants will remain at UPC for one semester during the academic year 2010-2011. The total length of their stay is meant to be of 6 months. Although the stay could be extended, the total amount of the grant will be the same: 5.000 €.
Selected students will work on:
• Their final degree project (master’s thesis)
• Part of the research for their PhD thesis.
This call for applications is for Beijing Institute of Technology students only (see the list of requirements below).
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
? Be regular students at BIT
? Have Chinese nationality
? Be enrolled in a master’s or PhD programme at BIT
? Live in China
? Have BIT as their home university

eligibility Requirements
New Zealand residents.
Minimum age requirement of 18 years old at the time of commencement with ICHM.
Maximum age 20 at time of application.
Will complete in 2010 or have recently completed Year 13 or equivalent international schooling.
Open only to new students seeking entry into Year 1.
For students whose mother tongue is other than English, IELTS 6.0/TOEFL 550 (paper based; equivilent computer and
internet scores acceptable).

This form is in two parts.
- Cover page providing your personal contact details.
- Your response to the four short answer questions. Note that there are no right or wrong answers. We simply want to
find out more about you.
Brief CV (not more than one page in length)
Copies of your school reports for year 12 and 13 (to date).
ICHM application form (unless an application to attend ICHm has already been forwarded).

and submitted along with the Scholarship form and details.
